WR Grant Schwartz (official thread)

Mili,
Like to add, what you are seeing is aganist some of the top competition in So. Ca. He plays in the same league as Mission Viejo, San Clemente. They played aganist 2 CIF divison champs and 2 teams that made to the finals. He also had a way below par OL. God only knows what he could have done with a good OL.

wow, that's quite a factoid. I was curious at first glance considering how silly and slow he made everyone look.

But still no offer? Hmmm, something is missing...

Because he's in California it's easier for him to fly under our radar. We usually only take note of the very top of the state's rated talent, and although Grant has shown us he's a player, he's not (yet) highly rated. Now that our staff has seen him at camp and has his highlight tape, that offer just may be in the works.

The what's missing is the fact that he played for a team that won more games last season than the previous 4 combined. First time in the playoffs in 5 years. The what's missing is that he played almost exclusively offense last season and though he led that league in total offense accounting for 20 scores, his league included soon to be SC Trojan QB Mark Sanchez who many considered the top player in the country last season. Recorded 70 tackles and a couple pics as a sophomore for a 2-8 team. He has flown under the radar for just about everyone till this spring and schools started showing up at his HS to the tune of about 40 schools. Film started circulating and word began to spread. Schools are always wary of a "sleeper". But after being selected to be in the top 8 DB group at Palo Alto's Nike. Having the top 40 (4.41 SPARQ) @ USC's camp and a big showing @ OSU's camp. The word is traveling fast about this 6'0" 205 player.
By the end of the season nobody will not be aware of this kid. Hopefully by then, he's already signed sealed and delivered to OSU. VaTech is hot on his trail right now also. And Pete Carroll has his eye on him too.

Yeah he is a great player I really hope we offer him. We have Coleman already and Duvalt,Thomas, and Wallace are all possiblities. However most of these are projected at corner and I think Schwartz could be our stud Saftety in the class. Coleman may play safety also even though he says he is coming in as a corner. But regardless he is a player heck I even like him at QB if the defense thing doesn't work out.
