WR Jameson Williams (transfer to Alabama, Detroit Lions)

Haha...of course.

Seriously any negative..

Serious question which would you all take right now. JSN or Williams for this year alone?

I’ll let someone else go there. It’s really next year when Williams would have a clear differentiation from the rest of the receiver room. Clearly, he didn’t want to wait that year, and who can blame him?

I don't blame him but I guess it's were we splitting too many reps with JSN and Williams? No idea... but hard to see a burner who was with us for 3 years now starting for our main competition.

Jameson has always had SEC speed. When given opportunities at Ohio State last year, he had some big drops and ran wrong routes, some of which led to turnovers. It looks like it was a win-win for Jameson to transfer to Alabama. Sometimes great players and great football programs aren't good fits for one another. Both appear to have bettered their situations. Be happy.

Alabama had big time turnover in their receiver corp the past 2 seasons. Hence, the opportunity at Alabama that wouldn't otherwise have been there (and that Ohio State did not have). Go watch film of our new freshmen, such as Harrison. Might cheer you up.

Coaches on the Buckeye staff are criticized every game week. Just wait for the Coombs avalanche here if we don't get the defense figured out.

Stating I think it was an error to not go out of our way to keep Jamo is hardly being severely critical.
Again, explain to me how to keep him. And then, explain to me how we are hurting at WR because he's gone.

It's a Skip Bayless level take to act like the coaching staff fucked up here.

I love our freshman but they didn't play 1 snap last game and we only threw to JSN 1 time last game too (same for ruck).

IMO the past 2 years our QBs have thrown the ball to 1 and 5 because they're the primary read and they have been open. That said we've got to find a way to spread the ball around a little bit or we will see a ton of kids like Jamo leave.

Our offense becomes insanely more difficult if we can get 3-4 WRs involved instead of just 2. I'm a little concerned that we'll continuously be feeding other programs top flight WRs if we don't start utilizing our depth more.

Freaking blew it with this kid... I love Olave and Wilson but we should've been able to keep this guy as a #3.

If we were splitting his reps with JSN then we fucked up.

I realize we don't see practice but give me this kids speed in the slot all day at the expense of some blocking.

IMO we mishandled this enormously.
Overreact in week 1 brehs.

Plus I’m pretty sure Jamo didn’t want to be the #3 WR which was cemented when Olave returned.

I never said we were hurting. I would rather have Williams though instead of JSN as option #3 for this season. How to keep him? Go to him and tell him we are going to involve him more and we are aiming to not be as reliant on 2 and 5. Maybe they did and they didn't believe them though? Any rate hard to say... were the targets to Olave and Wilson last year called targets or was Justin throwing to the open man?

It's only 1 game but so far Stroud is going to either 2 or 5 as well.. IMO this will hurt our abilities to keep the WR room if we don't utilize more of the unit.
