WR Jameson Williams (transfer to Alabama, Detroit Lions)

“It was harsh for me,” Williams said. “John, he’s my brother. I meshed with him real good when I came in. He was one of the first guys to get me under his wing, and we just started kicking it. And that’s my brother, man. It was pretty hard to see that happen.”

“I feel like we all have to step up and do a better job,” Williams said. “With Metch going down, the receivers have to play a big part in the offense, so I feel like all of us have to step up in some type of way. No matter who it is, I feel like we all have the big-play mentality. Things shouldn’t be very hard because I feel like we have a lot of talent in the room. We just have to make plays.”

Just sayin': Jameson Williams likely to have an even bigger role in the Alabama offense now with Metchie out.

“Moving to Alabama, I would say I learned to always go hard, even harder than when I went -- I'm a real good competitor, but being around guys like this and guys on the team, on the defense, are forcing me to bring out way more than I ever had with these practices and how things go,” Williams said. “So I would say I learned to go way harder than I ever did, really, coming to Alabama.

"The experience (at Ohio State), everything went well. I just felt like it was time for me to make a decision for myself. And things just -- I entered the portal, and just ended up being at Alabama. And things went well."

Maybe if he had gone harder in practice at tOSU he would have seen the field more, possibly even started.
