WR Julian Fleming (transfer to Ped)

I think everyone gets it and in a perfect world you’d have younger guys who would love to learn behind Fleming. Unfortunately we don’t live in that world. You have two guys on the roster right now with at least 2 years left who could go anywhere and start and the #1 overall recruit in the country who could flip his commitment and do the same.

Losing multiple years from any of those guys is just not worth another year of Fleming. And I love Fleming. Couldn’t ask for a better team guy. But he’s just not good enough to take the risk on losing one of those other 3.
Seems like a lot of those type of things were being said of Julian back in the day, pretty highly rated/recruited in his own right. short version, hindsight is 20\20, you can't count your chickens and whatnot.

Welp. If that's where he goes, he goes. What I find interesting is the discussions about him on BWI. They have spent his entire time at OSU pretty much bashing him because he "spurned them" for OSU and dogged him for not living up to his recruiting ranking ( mostly because he spent so much time dealing with the injuries). As soon as he hit the portal they love him and have been begging for him to "come home". All I can say is that if he DOES end up at PSU, he will most likely be their WR1 because their receivers have been less than impressive and the same goes for their recruiting of the position. Can't say anything bad at all about Julian. He fought through a lot here and still gave the Buckeyes all he had. Best of luck to him, except on November 2.

100% this. They don't deserve him. They've spewed nothing but hatred at him since he committed to us.

He worked very hard to live up to the expectations that brought him to Ohio State. He got coaching here that he would not have received elsewhere. His injuries must have been absolutely devastating, and watching others pass him on the depth chart painful to experience. In these years, he has not said one thing to offend anyone. He has constantly been a positive person and supportive of his teammates.

If he goes to PSU, then one understands why he might want to go closer to his family and home. If he remains injury-free and plays against Ohio State, he will undoubtedly give his best against a defense that will know him very well and vice-versa.

I've got to be honest. When I saw Syracuse play in their bowl game, my thoughts went to McCord senior and his apparent attempts to influence Ohio State coaching decisions. Enjoy what you thought would be better.

I will never enjoy watching Penn State play or be supportive, but if this kid does well there, then I will be happy for him. A good kid done bad by injuries. Go well! You will always be a Buckeye.

Don't like him going to PSU because I hate them like all other fans, but it makes sense. He goes back home and is their premier WR from the outset since their WRs are average at best. Was hoping he would land somewhere like Pitt but I imagine he would want to play at the highest level possible. Wish him the best of luck in all games except one next year.
