Most observers think that Pitt, Penn State and Ohio State are the main contenders, but Pryor is quick to add Michigan and Notre Dame to that list, too. "I want it to be within six hours of here," says Pryor. That eliminates Pryor's previous dream school, North Carolina. "It's twelve hours away. That's too far. And it's too hot."

according to Pryor, all five of the main contenders have told him they would take him as a quarterback and for both sports. The top in-state quarterback last year, Pat Devlin, redshirted this past year at Penn State; and Pitt is about to officially sign this year's top in-state quarterback, Pat Bostick. Though both are considered excellent prospects, Pryor is rated higher than both Devlin and Bostick. But both will also likely be sophomores during Pryor's freshman year, giving them a head start in any battle. Things are even tougher at Notre Dame, where the Fighting Irish are welcoming the consensus No. 1 player in the country, quarterback Jimmy Clausen, and at Michigan, who welcomes the consensus No. 2 quarterback in the country, Ryan Mallet.

Considering Rivals has him as the top football player in the class of 2008 I would agree...I think we are more owrried about getting him in for football. But Pryor has talked about aspirations of the NBA as well.

Well whatever path he does choose to take up, and if he does come here to tOSU, im quite sure he will help in either football or basketball.

If he plans to stay in the midwest, does any school honestly compare to tOSU as far as Bball & Football programs combined? Wisky comes closest, but I haven't seen Terrelle stating anywhere that UW was a possibility.

You can't really argue for anyone other than UF, UCLA (on a good fb year), Wisky & perhaps UK if they improve a bit in both sports. In my opinion, Florida and us have the most balanced elite programs. I think he is ours in time. :)

I have seen the BBall/FBall combos thrown around, and all of a sudden I have questions. You can only take a scholarship in one or the other (Football wins out every time if both, right?). Would you rather go to a school who had top notch programs in both (tOSU),... OR, to get to my question, would a team like Pitt, ND or scUM have an advantage in this race when they have only one truly strong program? Pitt: will need QB (don't kid yourself...) , would also take him at BB, but ranked #5 at BB right now.... ND: Clausen can't help their cause, hope they got what they wished for (:biggrin: ) but Pryor might help the BB team crack the top 25 (I said might!).... scUM: they have Mullett coming in, but their drought in the NCAA tourney would make people trying to quit smoking jealous. Pryor might save their BB program all by himself.

Wow...Now that I answered my own question, the answer would be obvious if only I was Terrelle....of course, I've been considered biased....

These people aren't too brilliant. All they see is Troy leaving, and think "oh my, Ohio State didn't recruit a QB this year? What are they going to do?" ummm... yea... we've already got 3, possibly 4 (Bauserman), and we're hot on the trail of a 5th (Pryor). We should be set for at least the next 2 years, after which Henton and (hopefully) Pryor will face off (if one of them hasn't already won the job by then). In fact, my impression this whole recruiting season was that we laid off the QBs so that we could land a big one in 2008. Recruiting gurus are notoriously short-sighted... :!


EDIT: I originally posted this in Washington's thread, where schwab first posted the article, then noticed he posted it here too and figured this was a better spot for it.
