+1 for BUCKYLE, because I can't spread more rep to you.

The dude doesn't run, he glides. It's like watching a figure skater on ice. Like Brian Boitano or some [censored], but way better and in a football sense.

Or maybe like, just a guy skating on ice really smooth like, it's like that.

i don't know about this gay figure skater you speak of, but THEWOOD texted me earlier and said the same thing. it said, "he doesn't run he glides!"

Is it just me, or does anyone see Pryor becoming one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of college football? This kid has all the tools, an off-season working on his mechanics and reads and this kid could be good, real good.

I think he can be as good or better than Young, who is not only one of the greatest QBs of all time, but probably in the top 10-25 players of all. Pryor's physical gifts are off the charts so he's fine there and he also has amazing poise and drive to become better. It's all there, but there are still many, many ifs.

We all knew he could run the ball, and he sure as hell does that well, but I didn't know he had the kind of touch and vision he has shown today and against Troy.

Agree. He's very far ahead in development and that's why I have such hope. He's raw and makes mistakes, but even so he's tearing it up in some aspects. Just makes me think that when/if he puts it all together, he's going to raise the bar for QB play and make everyone just stop and stare.

Coach Tressel I know is so excited about this kid, because he can bring back the Troy Smith-esqe offense and spread them out a bit. The Trojans, Michigan, Penn State, Illinois and Wisconsi are in for a real world of hurt next year when they face TP.

I'm sure he's excited because he knows how good the team was with Smith, who was great, probably one of, if not the best QB in OSU history, but did not have near the potential of Pryor. He basically has a better passing version of Vince Young on his hands. Most coaches would be pretty pumped bout that. :oh:

I believe that the key is that after he makes a mistake, he's shown the ability to make up for it on the next play... maybe two. It's one thing to get yourself in trouble... it's amazing to see how he's gotten himself out of it.

Pryor rises up to latest challenge

CRAIG HOLMAN Dispatch
Terrelle Pryor didn't need to lower a shoulder on a 33-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Terrelle Pryor ran for two touchdowns in Ohio State's win over Minnesota, a week after the freshman quarterback passed for four touchdowns against Troy.
But it was a play that didn't even count that left the Ohio Stadium crowd buzzing.
On a scramble toward the Minnesota bench midway through the fourth quarter, he dropped his right shoulder and lowered the boom on Rex Sharpe, knocking the linebacker topsy-turvy out of bounds.
A holding penalty erased the 10-yard run and kept Pryor from breaking 100 yards rushing for the day. But Pryor answered a challenge and sent a message.
"I ran out of bounds the play before (at the end of a 21-yard gain) and then a (Minnesota) coach or somebody said, 'Why don't you put your head down and run somebody over instead of running out?' " Pryor said. "So I was thinking, 'OK if I get a chance, I'm going to do it.' "

He was foolish to try and hit a linebacker like that. I didn't see the hit and would have enjoyed it at first, but this just makes it more likely that defensive players will try to hurt him. He didn't need to do it. No matter how much fun it was, he needs to control those urges. He's too important to be injured on a play like that in a game that is decided.

from my viewpoint it looked like he was taking it out of bounds and then he realized the guy was going to hit him. If he didn't lower the shoulder he would have been blasted in the chin and planted on his back. He was just protecting himself.

Wow, that kid is unreal. He is beaming with confidence, I would love to see how he gets like when we beat a Top 5 ranked Penn State team in a couple of weeks. He might run over JoePa.

The problem is, he cant be running over linebackers on every play, because he could get injured in a freakish way. He's young though, and he will learn.

Talented Pryor is 'the man' for OSU

COLUMBUS - The decision made a week or so ago by Jim Tressel was so un-Jim Tressel-like that even Jim Tressel might have suspected an impostor had made off with his sweater vest and called a press conference.

In the aftermath of Ohio State's debacle at Southern Cal (which was after Oregon State's debacle at Penn State and prior to USC's debacle at Oregon State, which is all food for thought), Tressel took a fifth or sixth-year senior quarterback (depending on how you count), a guy who marched the Buckeyes into last year's national title game, a guy who would crawl through a mine field as long as the mines were painted scarlet and gray and threw him under the bus.

OK, maybe that's a tad harsh. Let's say Tressel, the OSU coach, body-slammed Todd Boeckman into the side of a bus or more politely moved his seat assignment to the back of the bus. In favor of a freshman. That's very, very, un-Tressel like. He's usually loyal to upperclassmen, especially seniors, to a fault, and

There were back-to-back plays in the fourth quarter. On the first, Pryor rushed for 21 yards around left end and, with a Minnesota defender bearing down on him, squirted out of bounds. Somebody on the Gophers' sideline - Pryor didn't know who - challenged him for neither giving nor taking the hit. So, a play later, Pryor ran the same direction and saw an outside linebacker bearing down on him. He stepped away from the sideline, lowered his shoulder, and leveled the guy.

It may not have been the most prudent move for a quarterback, but maybe it was necessary.

"The guy was coming at me," Pryor said, "and I thought, 'OK, this is it right here.' You gotta prove you're a man."
