Well, sometimes you're one play from having to insert your backup QB in a game that counts, and sometimes your one play away from having to insert your starting QB in overtime against a service academy. I'd prefer Bauserman get his reps when the game is in hand, not before.

Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor would be wise to rethink Michael Vick stance

Instead of scrambling to pay tribute to Michael Vick, Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor should focus on USC this week.



Terrelle Pryor almost found a way to upstage Ohio State's biggest game of the year against visiting USC Saturday with his controversial tribute to Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.
The Buckeyes' 6-6, 235-pound sophomore quarterback was wearing black eye strips with the names "Mike" and "Vick" before his team's 31-27 victory over Navy at the 'Shoe last Saturday, then offered a spirited defense for Vick's actions that landed him in a federal prison for 18months for his involvement in a dogfighting ring.
"I know what happened with him and I don't want to talk much," Pryor said. "I'm going to be very short and sweet with it. But I just feel he made his mistake and he just needs more support.
"Not everybody is a perfect person in this world. I mean, everyone does ... kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me. I just feel people need to give him a chance. I always looked up to Mike Vick and I always will because I still think he's one of the best quarterbacks to me and I just love Mike Vick."
Pryor is a gifted, 20-year-old from a depressed area in Jeannette, Pa. who is still developing as a player and a person. Yes, it's true that everyone deserves a second chance, but it needs to be earned. However, it's a sad commentary about our society when college students believe it is inevitable that people will rape, murder, pillage and steal rather than hope for a better day. While it is easy to understand why Pryor would want to emulate Vick's success that he had on the field at Virginia Tech and with the Falcons, he should be cautious about the words he chooses to use in addition to honoring a convicted felon.

Columbus- Maurice Clarett and Troy Smith for Ohio State. Reggie Bush and men's basketball's O.J. Mayo for USC. As the Buckeyes and Trojans prepare to meet Saturday night, they do so with recent athletic success that also includes NCAA investigations of their brightest stars.
Now Ohio State's Terrelle Pryor is the biggest name on this national stage, and it's not unreasonable to wonder what might happen with the NCAA and the most high-profile football recruit of the past several years. The NCAA has already conducted an on-campus investigation of Pryor's recruitment to Ohio State, which resulted in two minor secondary NCAA violations.
And the spotlight and attention on Pryor, for good and bad, won't leave Columbus until he does. The best players draw the most adulation and face the greatest temptations to break rules.
The NCAA monitors the elite, starting with its "Top Prospect" program.

Love it when a NY paper picks up on a story and completely misses out on facts. If I was going to write that he had "Mike" and "Vick" on his eye black, i would probably want to see it for myself.

I guess the overall theme of the story is on point but it just irks me when reporters miss out on obvious facts. Hell, even ESPN got the "MIKA" referring to TP's sister correct.

I also don't think TP was saying that it is "inevitable" that people will rape, murder, pillage.

You are right on the money ysubuck! It is just sickening how much the media idolizes Tebow and you can see it already with Barkley.

I saw this coming a mile away. The media cracks me up ob how they love to stir the pot. Especially ESPN they make it sound like people in Columbus are holding protests outside Terrelle's dorm room. I sure some people were uncomfortable but this has been way way way overblown.
