WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

I'm sorely disappointed by this, and I'd be confused except it's the Browns. So you've got a freakish athlete who can play 3-4 different positions (at least two of real need), he makes your final roster cut, and then you drop him for an injured 4th round cast-off from Seattle who went to Utah State and in 231 rushing attempts as a pro over 3 years hasn't crossed the goal line (did twice as a receiver last year, but never as a rusher).

Look, I'm biased, I'm pulling hard for TP2 -- want to see the dude succeed and believe he will as a WR (and this may be a blessing in disguise that he's out of CLE); but when I go looking for a defensible contrarian position on this swap, I find nothing. I get that they just plain don't have a viable RB (and I don't see Turbin as that), but then they just plain lack viability at a number of positions.

Good for him. Anybody that escapes that dead end organization should consider themselves lucky.

Damn right. As long as that sore hamstring doesn't turn into a staph infection he's a lucky man indeed.

Don't agree, anyone that has kicked around the NFL since 2011 (with multiple teams) needs to make a team, any team (even the Browns) to keep his NFL hopes alive. At this stage of the NFL season the odds of him being picked up by another team (especially since he is unproven at a new position) are slim.

Either going to take a really shitty team or a bunch of injuries. Honestly if I'm any team and have a WR go on the IR at this point I at least kick the tires for a week or two. He has to have more upside than anyone that isn't on a roster. If he was a Farmer guy I wouldn't be surprised if Ray called him to say go work with Moss for a few more weeks and get ready to come back. They should shake out some of the other depth issues by then, which would open a spot for a project.

Since he doesn't have practice squad eligibility, I think he needs to go to the CFL and/or try to find a place where he can actually get on the field and make some plays. He's too much of a project at WR for a roster spot. He needs to take the advice Chip Kelly and so many others gave Tim Tebow. Then again, you have Smith, Sam, Johnson, etc who couldn't cut it there either. TP has no body of work at WR in actual games. Maybe someone will give him a shot after week 1 if there are injuries. Maybe the Browns would have considered that, too.
