WR Torrance Gibson (Green Bay Blizzard)

So that means he hasn't signed at the JUCO yet and is checking his options? Ohio State might not let him back? Why would that be?
Because he was suspended by the university for the semester. We dont know the reason why he was suspended but there is always a chance the university might not allow him back.

I thought the university had clearly established they were going to let him back. Otherwise, it's pretty unethical to say "we are gonna suspend you (for a reason that seemed bogus) and may or may not let you back". Either let the kid know he can come back or not so he can pursue other options.

Torrance Gibson is not going to Mississippi Gulf Coast community college. Source: I'm his girlfriend.

Valeria is a senior Libero on the volleyball team, had no idea they were dating... Interesting sidenote on volleyball/football connections; Cameron Heyward is maried to (and has a son with) former OH Allie Schwarzwalder (now Heyward)...

JUCO LOIs are pretty much worthless, Gibson is apparently using that as a failsafe in case Columbus doesn't re-admit him and he can't find another D1 school to take a chance.

I'm wondering about when he'd become eligible at a D1 school. Does 2016 count as his "sit" year? No one knows if he was taking classes anywhere -- does he need to show progress towards a degree to become eligible? How does the wording of the suspension affect Gibson's status as a transfer or recruitable player who is bound by NLI rules?
