WR Trevon Grimes (transfer to Florida Gators)

College football's breakout players for each Top 25 team in 2020

7. Florida Gators: WR Trevon Grimes

After a standout performance in the spring game last season, Grimes seemed poised for a big year. He contributed in a meaningful way in 2019, with 33 catches for 491 yards and three scores, but a far bigger opportunity awaits headed into 2020. Florida loses four of its top six receivers, including leading receiver Van Jefferson. Grimes' combination of speed, athleticism and size makes him a perfect fit in Dan Mullen's offense. With Kyle Trask returning as the starting quarterback, that provides an entire offseason of work for Grimes to get even better. -- Adelson

Crazy to think that not too long ago he was the biggest deal to get at WR. We never had him, he transfers, and now just looks like another guy on the field. Nothing really special. Hope he can tie something together in his senior year

Florida Gators WRs Kadarius Toney, Trevon Grimes skipping Cotton Bowl to focus on NFL draft

Florida starting wide receivers Kadarius Toney and Trevon Grimes will skip Wednesday's Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic to begin preparation for the 2021 NFL draft, they each announced Monday.

The 6-foot, 193-pound Toney is the Gators' top receiver as he leads the team in catches (70), receiving yards (984) and touchdowns (10).

Grimes ranks third on the team in receptions (38), receiving yards (589) and receiving touchdowns (9).

Just sayin': Normally you'd think the 3rd best receiver on the team wouldn't have much of a chance in the NFL; but look at Terry McLaurin's stats. His senior year he was definitely behind Parris Campbell and K.J. Hill in both catches and yardage, etc.
