Doug Nester (OL Virginia Tech, transfer to West Virginia)

Fuente has been on the hot seat, barely made a bowl this past season. I am not sure why he would select VT vs OSU with the thought that "Stud might be gone soon" when in reality it is just as high of likelihood that Fuetne and his entire staff are gone shortly as they have progressively declined during his tenure.

guys... stop trying to get into the mind of the teenager... Kid wants to go to Va Tech.. school in a small city... good for him... maybe he feels more comfortable being in a small town... Wish the kid best of luck and hope he’s making the right choice for him....
That’s where I’m at. I really don’t care or get hung up on why a kid doesn’t want to be in C-Bus. I just want kids here who truly want to be. For even the most staunchly committed and grounded the transition is VERY challenging, therefore it does nobody any good to start on shaky footing.

Simply put, if it’s not a fit then it’s just not a fit. And that’s ok. For everyone.

Been trending away since he announced he was taking additional visits to PSU and VT. Anyone looking that hard at other schools at this stage is obviously looking for a reason to justify to himself that OSU isn't the right place for him. Good luck at VT. Better there than losing to OSU 4 times in your career @ PSU.

And better than cleaning the stadium by yourself because everyone transferred.

VaTech? A perpetually middling program? Welp, good luck with that.
Recruit turns down an elite program for a not elite program, then turns down a not elite program for a middling program. There's usually a reason for that. He's probably better off at Virginia Tech. Ohio State's probably better off with him at Virginia Tech.

The OL numbers will be thin for a year, but Nester's probable defection opens up another spot in the incredibly deep and talented Class of 2020, in which Ohio State already has three OL verbals (Paris Johnson, Luke Wypler, Jakob James) and is looking good with several other top OL prospects (Justin Rogers, Turner Corcoran, Jake Wray, Reece Atteberry, maybe even Geirean Hatchett).

That's not fair. He wasn't looking for anything. He was looking to play for Urban Meyer at Ohio State.

Age old Question......do you want to PLAY for a good team, or SIT the pine for a great one? Looking back at pre-season mags, VaTech will lose three senior starters, and have some inexperienced guys coming up. Mayhaps VaTech sold him on ability to play right away. tOSU's on the other hand, has plenty of 4* & 5*s waiting to play, who have been in the program for a while. Dunno. Coaches normally do not comment on kids who don't with (with us), so we may never know. Maybe BN27 got it right, but really, would rather have a kid who wants to be a Buckeye, rather than an (insert name here) 'coach' groupie. Good luck Doug, we hardly knew ye. Go Bucks!
