"Yo, (not the) first real post." A love letter.

Only forum online I still post in. Tried other Buckeye forums and they all felt disjointed and annoying. BP is a community and a lot of mutual respect.

Same here. I lurk on some of the other forums, and forums of other fanbases. I don't like the format of some of the other sites. I also don't like how the conversation usually devolves into dildos and how many people some sportscaster from Pitt had "spicy" relations with. Oh wait - that's here.
But the other sites... maybe I'd get used to them, but maybe not. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that.

I'm glad all is well with Clarity and Longwoodbuck and everyone.

/cheers

Thank you for all you've done and the community you created and let grow, Clarity. I wish the best for all of you.

A few questions, though: 1) are we all still BKB or do we have to be heisman now? 2) is heisman qualified to do the baptisms and will there be an introductory rate? and 3) can we move Fox to safety?
Fox can't play safety, Bellisari is going there after Zwick saves us all.

Must be a bye week, there are other threads guys. In all seriousness @Clarity thank you for everything you have done on BP over the many years. I was also on Bucknuts as a regular poster and came over here like in 8th grade or as a freshman in HS. My friends growing up were mostly Buckeye fans but not nearly as rabid as me, so the knowledgeable folks here were a breath of fresh air to converse with and have been to me for roughly 20 years now. Some folks read the paper or a news blog in the morning, I come to BP first thing and it has been home for me. I have never donated to any other site and I do so because I appreciate all the efforts to make this site what it is. I've met up with some wonderful people on here at games, had some really great conversations and always gets my Buckeyes fill. I say all this as a thank you and I appreciate you passing the torch to @heisman to make sure the site keeps going.

More importantly, I am happy to hear you have navigated the health issues and are prospering. Every single person here was rooting for that to happen and gets why you haven't been able to be as involved on BP as I'm sure you wanted to be. Hell, I have not had the health issues but even with life and the job, it is tough to keep up sometimes...much less when you are volunteering your time. This is great news and I hope to see you keep posting and updating us all, and thank you for also getting a succession plan for BP set up to make sure we keep this wonderful place going moving forward. It truly means a lot my friend.

Hey you filthy, amazing, brilliant, pain in the ass, wonderful group of people, friends, and truly a chosen family. ...

... Forward. Here we go. Ever forward.

F That! Guess it's back to Bucknuts for me.

On a serious note, ya drama queen, stop the feeling guilty stuff ASAP. I'm sure I speak for the vast majority when I say: It was NEVER about the day-to-day functioning of the site. Never about the over or under moderation. Never about the funding or lack thereof. Never about being the biggest or best or running things the "right way" ... or whatever one thinks being a successful site or business or entity means to anyone. It was, and is, about building friendships and family and community, and all the warts and blemishes that come along with undertaking such an endeavor. Whether in this digital realm or in real life, a parent never feels truly adequate in their ability to raise a family or lead a community. If you do, you are almost certainly doing it wrong. Maybe all you've done is create a digital island where the misfit toys can play ... well King Moonracer, that's one hell of a great thing for all us misfits. In that regard, you have fostered something truly special. I hope you let yourself feel pride in this endeavor in place of whatever guilt may creep in. You have done well my friend, very well indeed.

A lot of great posts about what you’ve built here, Clarity, by members of various tenure. I’d love to say something deep and thoughtful myself. Instead, I can only agree with the many wonderful reminiscences espousing the great measure and meaning of this online congregation expressed in ways much better than I ever could.

Still, since I stand 6’3”, and therefore taller than most of you louts, I remain satisfied that I may look down on each and every one of you as the opportunities to do so present themselves in the years to come.

Ever yours in glib self-satisfaction,
Charlohiottean

p.s. If I was BKB, he’d know it.
