Your Monday morning mind-numbing thread of the week

Get the surgery. I got one eye done about six years ago and it was the best money I ever spent.

I would but my dad had it and it didn't work. His vision got worse and as of now, it's not correctable.

One of my dad's golfing buddies also had Lasik and it back-fired and he is now on disability b/c his vision is so bad that he had to quit work. Used to be a scratch golfer and now can't hardly golf at all anymore.

He got very depressed as a result and was suicidal.

My roommate in college is now an eye doctor and told me something that I'll never forget, "Don't get surgery on an organ that doesn't need operated on."

He wears sontacts to this day and refuses to get Lasik.

My vision, as it relates to this board:
Would be for tOSU football to be the first Fourpeat. And to do it in my lifetime, or within the next thirty years, whichever comes first.
To have a second Buckeye win two Heismans. (again, while I can witness it.)

Thump, since I am close at -7.5...yes, it is scary. Yet no where near blind. Without them I can actually function, but I can't drive a car. Without them I can do alot of things by looking through very small openings (I close my hand to a small opening and look through it...this eliminates all the light but the light that actually focuses). Without doing that I cannot see the E on an eye chart. I'm glad I'm not in the Middle Ages. I'd be dead for sure.

ive been 20/50 and 20/20 depending on whos tested me...

i swear i think my eyesight has gotten better naturally.

but still, contacts are hard to beat. the ones i got make everything look like youre looking through a HD monitor. sometimes i forget i even have them in theyre so comfortable.

How do you tell what your vision is, like 20/400. Or whatever. When I had my eyes tested before I worked this summer (yes, they do test our eyes) they said 20/10. But that was w/ contacts in, but that's fine because what does it matter what ur vision is without correction...not like u don't use your contacts on the field. I'd be screwed without them though.

As I said back on page 1 my vision isn't very bad, but I do have glasses. I pretty much only wear them when I'm watching tv at night to make everything a little more clear. The only reason that your vision w/o correction would matter is if you don't want that restriction on your drivers license or have a job that requires good vision w/o correction. I'll probably take my glasses with me next time I renew my licence just in case, but I don't want my license to say that I have to wear them. If that happens I'll have to leave the glasses in my car all the time so I can put them on if I get pulled over.
