I think they're terrible. Honestly not a one of those games really looks that compelling. Here's how I would've done it:

Michigan vs LSU
Boise State vs Notre Dame
Oklahoma vs USC
Louisville vs Wake Forest

... actually I take that back. The Oklahoma vs Boise State is pretty good, the others still suck.

I would like to see Louisville get to play LSU, and let ND play Wake in the Orange Bowl. I want to see how good Louisville really is, and if they can match up athletically with a top team.
Instead, we get to watch ND get killed against superior athletes - again - and we get to watch L'ville end Wake's cinderella story.

I would be willing to v-bet anyone that the top 3 Big 10 teams all win their bowl games.
I'm sick of hearing how the Big East is so good this year (because, look how good their top 3 teams are) and how weak the Big 10 is this year (ignoring the exact same, yet stronger argument for the Big 10).

Best one is Michigan-USC. Nice traditional throwback game, and they're almost definitely the two best teams not playing for the championship.

Worst is Louisville-Wake. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to see Wake Forest, the third smallest DI-A school in the nation, crash the BCS. Awesome. But Looah'vul will roll them.

Fiesta Bowl has upset potential. Boise State hasn't been tested, but they've pretty much stomped everyone they've played, and they have some really exciting players.

Ideally, I'd match it up like this:

Michigan-USC
Louisville-LSU
ND-BSU
Oklahoma-Wake

Mainly because it'll be fun to see LSU rock the Irish, but it would be even more fun if Boise State could pull it off.

Yeah I really wanted to see how good L'Ville is this year against an athletically tougher team. It's like they gave them the "eaisest" BCS opponet. These guys talk so much about the Big East, why not let them go against USC or LSU or Michigan? Instead we get to see them play WAKE! Ugh, that's terrible.

And Notre Dame? They have no business in there. They're going to get rolled up AGAIN by LSU. They should just forget this "automatic BCS bid" garbage and let the best teams play, regardless of conference.

No doubt, Michigan is better than Florida. Ideally this past weekend I would've liked to see USC win out and play OSU for all the marbles. Then we could've seen Michigan stop the sh*t out of Florida.

I think LSU and Michigan are the two best teams not playing in the NC. I agree UM/USC is a nice "throwback game", but I like to see matchups we don't get to see very often... hence I think Michigan / LSU would've been better.

By the way, Notre Dame isn't automatic this year. They have to be #8 or higher to earn that. They just happen to be the highest-ranked team that isn't locked out of the BCS due to conference limitations. Everyone higher than them is in except Wisconsin and Auburn. Locking teams out of the BCS doesn't make sense until you remember that there's money to be shared, and the conferences agreed to share it more or less equally.

So really, Notre Dame made it in more or less on merit. That and they always travel well. Frankly, I think they're actually better than Wisconsin and maybe Auburn too. No complaints about them actually being in the Sugar Bowl. Doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy watching them get destroyed. Of course, if they win, that's a plus too, another slapping of the high-and-mighty SEC.

Down year as far as matchups go.

Tough to have good matchups when Boise, Wake and Louisville are in the group AND you have taken the best (CLEARLY the best) two teams out of the group before creating the original four bowls.

I really look forward to USC-Michigan. Hate to root against the Big Ten - but what can I say? They are down, let's kick 'em.

Ah, thanks for explaining that. I still think they're overrated at #8 and I too, look forward to watching them get slapped down.

TSUN-Florida wouldn't have happened. If USC had made the title game, it would have been TSUN-LSU in the Rose and Florida-ND in the Sugar. Florida would have been tied to the Sugar as SEC champ if not in the top-2.
