Look at the precedent you're setting? Not good.

Do men everywhere a favor by returning the necklace and chocolates and just taking her to dinner.

If you're getting her a necklace after a week, what's she going to expect down the road?

I make sure I have no girlfriends from the beginning of December until after V-Day...Kind of a "dating blackout" period. Sure makes life a lot easier. And if her birthday happens to fall in that time frame, even better... :biggrin:

Lets all take a deep breath here, everything will be ok.

Did I get too much, probably. It's the first Valentines day and they won't all be like this, or at least I won't let them. Apparently she's been out shopping for me twice already.

Do I hate V-Day, yes. It's of course her favorite holiday.

Obviously her birthday isn't nearly as important then :)
