I have misplaced my pants.
Quick, easy game. All you do is predict the scores for each team. Of course, by picking the scores, you are also picking a winner automatically. The scoring works like this:
- Points are bad. You want low points. If you correctly predict the score of a game, you get 0.0 points. Worse predictions make higher scores.
- If you choose the wrong winner, you get 2.0 points. (This is down from 5.0 from previous years, and down from 10.0 from years before that.)
- For every point off from the total score of the game, you get 0.1 points. If you predict a 33-30 game, and it ends up 31-30, you get 0.2 points.
- For every point off from the margin of victory your prediction is, you get 0.2 points. If you predict Team A to win 33-30, and they win 31-30, you get 0.4 points. If you predict Team A to win 33-30, and they lose 31-30, you get 0.8 points.
- This year, I'm also adding a multiplier. Most games are worth the normal number of points. The national championship game will be worth double points, and the remaining BCS bowl games will be worth 1.5 x normal. We thought this might "shake things up" at the end of the bowl season.
Note that picks are due by December 17, 12:00 noon, eastern time. Unless the first game is later.. 2:00 or something. Then they're due then.
There are 2 ways to make your picks:
1. Send me a PM which includes your email address. I will email you my spreadsheet, and you can type your picks in there, save it, and send it back to me. I prefer this way, since it is all copy and paste for me.
2. Copy and paste the games below into a PM to me, including the scores for the games, and I will enter the scores by hand, when I find some time. (I have more time than I pretend I do.) If you do this, make it very clear which team gets which score. I suggest this format:
Team A 75
Team B 12
Do not just type a score. Like: Team A 75-20, Team D 33-19
The winner is whoever gets the lowest overall score at the end of the bowl games. The winner gets bragging rights for a year, which means nothing since I never remember who wins ever.
