Re: "He is such a joy,'' Myrna said about Jonah. "He works hard, is a good Christian and makes good decisions.''

The kind of person that you really want in the program, and he's still growing:

Grade Ht. Wt.
Freshman 6-5 225
Sophomore 6-8 260
Junior 6-9 290
Senior..... :yow1:

Gotta love being the first "powerhouse" offer, and offering him as soon as we have. Name dropping Laurinaitis to a fellow Minnesotan certainly shouldn't hurt.

But 6'9". Good gravey. If he's as solid as he is tall, he might make the LT we covet as Adams graduates.

Buckeyes offer Minnesota junior

Blue Earth (Minn.) Area junior offensive tackle Jonah Pirsig just got the word on Monday that Ohio State was interested in him.

Pirsig has future visits planned to Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan State.

By Wednesday, the 6-foot-9, 285-pound Pirsig was on the phone with Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel receiving a verbal scholarship offer.
?I was really surprised and honored,? Pirsig said.
?He said that he thought my highlight film was good, and I?m at the top of their list for the tackle spot for 2012. And his brother (Ohio State assistant Dick Tressel), I think he coached in Minnesota at Hamline, and he was just saying how he knows about Minnesota guys and their football.?
