Tom Dienhart ranks the SEC coaches for Rivals and SI.

Even though LSU was 3-5 in the SEC last year, it's hard for me to see Les below Nutt and the [strike] head [/strike] ol' ball coach.

1. Meyer
2. Saban
3. Richt
4. Nutt
5. Spurrier
6. Miles
7. Brooks
8. Petrino
9. Johnson
10. Chizik
11. Kiffin
12. Mullen

I have had drinks thrown on me, people curse me (one man walking up the steps saw me and my Gator shirt, put down his tray of drinks and hot dogs, and flipped me off with both hands), fans try to stop me from going in Tiger Stadium, food thrown on my car, and I have seen that on numerous occasions.

I have also had great times tailgating, eating fantastic food and talking with great fans. Like any place, it is a crap shoot. But if it is a night game - and you are one of their rivals - it won't be pretty by kickoff time.
No, that's called "Beaver Stadium".

Yinzers vs. Rednecks in most annoying fanbase?
Tough battle to be sure

In sheer population, they outnumber almost any SEC school but I'll take our Bourbon over IC Light or Rolling Rock any day of the week

Spring football: Can Kiffin walk the walk, more burning SEC questions

We've heard so much about first-year Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin this offseason. Can he actually coach football?

Will Alabama keep improving?

Did Florida lose anything from last year's national title team?

Could Georgia get better despite losing quarterback Matthew Stafford and tailback Knowshon Moreno?

Will LSU look like more like the 2007 national championship team or the five-loss squad from 2008?

Cont'd ...

Torrey Davis leaves Florida Gators - ESPN

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida defensive tackle Torrey Davis, who
made two goal-line tackles in the national championship against
Oklahoma, has left the team.

School spokesman Steve McClain confirmed Davis' departure
Saturday, but would not divulge the reason for his decision.

so what is the unofficial word?

Supposition is that his problems at Florida - behavior and/or academic - continued in the off season. Once you are in Meyer's dog house it is hard to get out if you don't do the "probation" items. Sometimes it is academics but not actually flunking - Meyer will enforce a class attendance policy, and you will not play if you skip a class (seeing the obvious correlation between missing class and grades).

As he had messed up so much, it well may have been a situation that the number of restrictions that Meyer imposed (or the effort required to meet them) made it unlikely that he would see the field again, or at least the steps to achieve that goal were deemed too onerous in Davis' opinion to try. Hard to say. Maybe it was something as simple as a resignation announced after a refusal to take a drug test, which would put him out anyway. That would not be as bad a black eye to his next program as expulsion over a positive drug test.

I am indeed purely speculating.
