2012 Spring Practice (started Wed, March 28) and tidbits

J.T. Moore, but he got a chance on the field last season and the results seem to speak for themselves.

He will need to improve dramatically to make an impact, but he is still an option I would say- at least in the spring.

Agreed. I was unsuccessfully trying to hint at that as my point. To taos, I also think Simon is definitely strong enough to play opposite the LEO.

If Simon is at 260 now, he's too light for a down lineman.

Simon will be playing SSDE this year. LEO will be played by Steve Miller, Nathan Williams, Adolphus, Noah, or even Mike Bennett (who ran with the first team LEO wednesday). I think if Nathan Williams cant go, one of the Freshman will step up and play LEO.

Is it just me, or does the position of the ball in picture #2 tell me that nothing has changed with Rod Smith since last year?

Our one-picture detectives are sure out in force this year.

First Hankins isn't any good because a picture captured him playing off balance (or something) and now Rod Smith has not made a single improvement since last season because he fumbled the ball after trying to truck the strongest player on the team (with said strongest player putting his head down in a dangerous way so his helmet hit directly into Smith's wrists and forearms)?!?

I don't care if Ray Lewis is hitting Rod, HANG ON TO THE BALL!!!!! It'd be different if this wasn't his problem a year ago. But I never said that Rod never made a single improvement! It's obvious that he still needs to work on hanging on to the ball, though.

Of course Smith, or any ball carrier, needs to hang on to the football every play.

I think 86's point is that it's a little silly to draw sweeping conclusions about Smith from one still photo. You said, "is it me or has nothing changed" I don't know... maybe you could look at a bunch of still photos of Smith not fumbling and convince yourself he has fixed the dropsies.
