2014 Week 1 B1G FB Open Thread

3. WTF is wrong with the Big Ten and their relationship with their regional big cities and their Chambers of Commerce? Why must every national spotlight game involving Big Ten teams be played in Texas? Is Jerry the only one who figures out how to make money by promoting his stadium and his state? If the Big Ten wants to be a premier conference then it needs to use its regional power the way the SEC and Texas uses theirs.

Hello CHICAGO.....

4. Most people in the North believe the Civil War is over. Anyone who has spent time in the South knows better.

Yes, yes they do....

I don't know if anyone has said this yet... Fuck Bucky a thousand times.

I seriously cannot stand their football team. They are on the brink of becoming a major program, then shit like this happens. Or maybe it's the fact that they have lost 3 straight Rose Bowls. No wonder nobody takes them seriously.

LSU would still be trying to remove the plunger from their asses if Wiscy would have completed just 2 or 3 passes at a few crucial spots.

If I'm LSU, I'm a little worried for the season.

If I'm Wiscy, I'd commit ritual suicide. It's really the best for all concerned...

It's usually not good practice to make sweeping judgements on a season based on week 1. However, if week one reveals that your player at the game's most important position is a disaster movie, it's probably a good indicator you're in for a long year. I may have missed it because I've been abnormally busy, but what happened to Stave? He wasn't a world-beater by any means, but he could at least get the football in the general direction of a guy with a "W" on his helmet. Also, Wiscy's receivers looked almost as bad as the guy tossing dead ducks all over the field.

The concern/only logical explanation was that Stave's shoulder was hurt. That was literally just confirmed by Andersen. That clears a lot up, as McEvoy is clearly unfit to throw a football for an FBS team.
