In fairness to Petiti he is constrained by the B1G bylaws. I believe the punishment was pretty much all he could do. There is not enough info from the NCAA to target specific coordinators and no authority to do anything else.

And yet what little we may have is unprecedented.
We really should be thankful for what the Big Ten did… he was facing a ton of pressure guys. Yet he had the balls to look past all of that and suspend that cheating fuck

"...during the time in question, including through the University’s seventh game of the 2023 season, the staff member was present on the University’s sidelines, dressed similarly to University coaches, in close proximity to University coaches, and he communicated directly with such coaches."

There is zero chance Hairball knew nothing about this.

Exactly. You've given them enough material to turn Harbaugh into a martyr, but not enough to actual punish them.

An emotional edge they'll carry the rest of the season that, again IMHO, the Bucks have failed to meet the last couple years.

They've embraced the villain role much like what Miami did in the early 2000s.
They've embraced the victim role. They're incapable of embracing the villain role.

To your larger point though, they also won't have Stalions on the sideline either. They won't be able to see a four wideout formation on the 15 with CJ Stroud and 4 future NFL receivers and know to bring up both their safeties to the line because they know it's a run. Or against the pedsters, they won't be defending a 4th and 1 at midfield and know drop both their safeties into coverage (something no sane DC would do) because they know that Franklin is going to throw deep.

And perhaps our team lost its emotional edge in the second half of 21 and 22 because they were frustrated that their opponents seemed to know their every move and were always in perfect position. That would have to drain the energy out of even the best team.

Losing Simple Jim is something. Losing Stalions is everything.

Anyone who thinks tsun is getting off light on this should read the above quoted.

The NCAA is telling the B1G "we have them dead to rights. We just want to make sure we get them all when we drop the hammer"

Add this to the unprecedented steps they have taken so far in the COVID recruiting scandal "It's NOT just a cheeseburger" and rejecting tsun's self imposed 3 game suspension and one just has to come to the conclusion that tsun is going to get shit hammered.

I'm biased as hell but there really isn't any other way to read this. The B1G's suspension of Harbaugh is just red meat to keep the other 13 happy...for now.

Much more is coming. I'd bet anything on it.
That's what's struck me. Something tells me some hesitation comes from the NCAA not wanting to show too much of their hand as this plays out.

I would not be at all surprised that what took so long today is that the lawyers got involved and the discussions took a long time... and the lawyers made them take out some punishments that they were going to hand down.

IF that happened, and IF we find out about it, I will call those lawyers feckless cowards. Some lawyers will only advise putting up fights that they KNOW that they can win, and they are far too conservative about making that determination. Those lawyers are cowards with fools for clients. Not saying that happened here, but it wouldn't surprise me.
If that's the case I'll be ok with Pettiti but those lawyers will be on my shitlist

Edit: first batch of Xmas ale just dropped. I'm going to go ruin a few weeks worth of great workouts now and toast one to the Bucks. Up to them to put an end to this silly run scUM is on. Later, boys.
That was going to happen regardless.

Just a hypothetical question for the legally inclined. Say a TRO was handed down in let's say ... oh Michigan for example. Would that necessarily be binding on a corporate entity in ... let's say Illinois. Would that also be binding on an event to be held and sponsored by the entity in ... oh maybe Pennsylvania? Asking for a friend.
I've wondered about jurisdiction, but it's probably designated in the by laws.
