Could you please stop speaking so negatively and consistently about NIL and the sky is falling. It’s quite annoying and doesn’t need to be in every single thread, you have not been adding any value other then whining about things for the past month.

I don’t know what to tell you.

This has been the most bizarre month in my long history of following OSU.

No buzz about game.
Recruiting is cratering.
Transfer portal has yielded a long snapper while our rivals are banging it better than anyone.
Extremely weird vibe right now.

My expectations for the close of recruiting and the game are both no expectations.

If we bend over a lay a smelly deposit of oily lawn sausage all over Atlanta it will get worse.

It will be a slow downward slog. Much like Jax has been saying.

All of us realize this. But you are posting negativity in every single thread and whining like a 4 year old that didn’t get his cookie. I’m asking you to quit being negative, especially in the recruiting threads. Please take to the other threads, but recruiting is about building a program and hope for future talent, your negativity is a drag and I respectfully ask you to stop doing it here.

How is recruiting cratering? Because they missed out on 2 SOUTHERN DL RECRUITS to SEC Schools? Stuff that happened constantly before NIL even existed?

Because Railoa? A QB who's still over a year out from even signing anywhere. Plenty of time to replace him with someone good.

Still in the midst of all this we land Jeremiah Smith who is #2 in the 247 composite for 2024.

As for the transfer portal. scUM HAS TO use it a lot more now because they don't have the overall talent on their roster that we do. Using the portal just to use the portal is a bad strategy, we don't need to be taking guys just for the sake of it.

Rank wise this is trending towards the worst class in years.

Would feel better if I felt like we had a cogent portal plan.
Alas like NIL we appear reactive as opposed to proactive.

Recruits go elsewhere for for multitude of reasons recruiting isn't cratering unless we just suddenly drop out of the top 10. Etcetera

I have no idea how good or bad our "portal plan" is currently. Easy target given how we haven't brought in a bunch of quality at positions of need.

Obviously our NIL game is lacking in comparison to some other programs. Unfortunately I'm not surprised. We (tOSU) always seem to be our own worst enemy when it comes to pushing the boundaries. We will take our lumps in recruiting this year and either change or sit back and wait for the powers that be to regulate this shitshow.

All in the backdrop of being in the CFP. It's like all of the joy of our situation continues to be sucked away. And all by our own "fans". Crazy indeed ....

Birm has also admitted that this has been the most unique year for recruiting. NIL has made recruiting a crapshoot for literally every recruiting analyst. And yet OSU still had very few decommits. Fletcher was a luxury, and not a need, and 2023 has been a down year for RB recruiting outside of the top 3. 2023 has a top 3 recruiting avg per recruit as well. And oh yeah, OSU is also in the CFP. Relax buddy

If you go by average player ranking we are still 3rd behind Bama and UGA. You got people out here acting like we are tanking into the ground though.

Ohio State might still miss out on the 2 DEs even if NIL wasn't a thing. We have not had the best of luck for higher rated southern players like that going up against the top SEC schools at the end. The meltdown over that is dumb, it's a result that usually goes against us anyway.
