BCS Title Game: LSU +1.5 vs Bama (ov/un 40.5) Mon Jan 9th 8 ET, ESPN

Great defensive game. Congrats to the SEC. I am glad LSU got blown out. I hope this outcome is what is best for college football because it may happen again next year, and the year after that. If Alabama can go through the SEC having an out of conference schedule of Kent State, a scandal ridden Penn State,Georgia Southern and North Texas, and not win or even play in their conference title game, then win a do-over game, thats easy money. Whose gonna say that a plus one is gonna change outcome. Put Arkansas in there. Now you have Alabama, LSU and Arkansas and possibly Auburn. Then you will have a plus one with the 4 SEC teams at the top. It is possible.

In 2007 most people wanted to see a B1G conference rematch for the BCSNC because they thought the best two teams should play.

What the hell is so different now, save the conference?
I was against a rematch (and philosophically would be if OSU had lost) back then, but UM lost by 3 on the road in a brutal environment. Bama lost at home.

And while the field conditions & defense weren't great, it was a much more entertaining game with 80 pts scored. Fans and media eat that up.

I doubt everyone would've been dying for a rematch of OSU-PSU with one of their trademark 10-7 contests.

We coulda' solved this equation by 8:45PM EST, ESPiN coulda' got an early start blowing Coach Satan, and life woulda' continued.

But NOOOOOOO...

We had to watch like the most horrific, embarrasing NC game of all time - this even [Mark May]s on that so-called Orange Bowl.

Now Brent's blowing the entire of Tuscaloosa.
Yo, Brent - here's a napkin. Wipe that junk off your chin!

No.

You.

Did.

Not.

I spent the evening with my girlfriend, and the TV was not on. I had a better evening than anyone who watched the game, and that includes the Crimson-necked Bama fans.

What's even more shocking is the final Coaches' Poll:

What's even worse, some asshat in the media gave LSU a #1 vote? LOL

How anybody in their right mind thinks that hot garbage LSU put out warrants a #2 ranking is beyond me.

EDIT: The asshat is down to two people. Cept one of them lying:

"I will vote for LSU no matter what happens in the National Championship Game," wrote Erik Gee of KNML-AM in Albuquerque, N.M. "How in the world can they be the SEC West champ, the outright SEC champ, and lose to Alabama in a "neutral" site game (I guess you can debate the Superdome being a neutral site) after they have already beaten them in Tuscaloosa, have the series split 1-1 and not at least have a share of the national title?"

Joe Giglio of The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C., agreed.

"Unless Alabama absolutely dominates LSU and leaves no doubt that it is a superior football team, I will be voting for LSU," he said. "I am voting for the No. 1 team in the country for the 2011 season, not the result of one game. In the case of this rematch presented by the BCS, you have to consider the scope of the entire season, not the timing of one loss."

In order to one up Auburn, Tom Al-Betar was on the sidelines chatting with business associate Trent Richardson.

He was supposed to be disassociated from the Bama program. Of course when photos surfaced of his players constantly hanging out at Tom's house, suit shop or Tom helping relocated player families settle into their new nearby home, Saban declared that he was not convinced there was anything wrong with that.
