...available on an "expanded basic" placement inside the eight Big Ten states and we are open to other placements (higher tier, sports package, etc) throughout the rest of the country...

Thanks JC - I guess they got me because I live in CT - i.e. not in a Big Ten School state!!!! :!

Hey, I thought that for the B10 basketball season, the B10 network was going to have three games going on simultaneously? In point of fact, there are two channels that are earmarked B10 network, but none of them have spooled up during the year. only channel 220.....any inside dope? And no, I have not going through the previous missives.....if there is info there, my apologies, and which post?

thanks in advance, :gobucks3::gobucks4::banger:

Don't need to be 21 to eat a cheesburger :biggrin: Ok, so beyond all this technical nonsense...whatever happened to the good ol' days where paying a huge cable bill would ensure you that you get to watch the one thing you really want to? I think both sides are the bad guys. High paying cable customers who are Buckeye fans are getting screwed. My family does everything through Time Warner, yet we can't see the ONE thing we truly want to see. Fact is that if BTN never came around, I would be able to watch my Buckeyes without all the hassle every week. So they suck. Then cable companies are so reluctant to offer BTN and if they do, many try to gip you. They suck. They all suck. I wish BTN would just be an option if you want to see all the other Big 10 games and you would still get to watch the Buckeyes if you are local. Personally I really couldn't care less about any other Big 10 games unless it's a big game. I choose to watch the best game that's on, regardless of conference. Couldn't they at least hold off from playing the game exlusively on BTN until they got things resolved if they are truly trying to help the fan? Get real, they want their $. Anyways in summary and I don't know if I said this, but they all suck.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. My dad joined Dish when it was just starting in Columbus, under the Echostar. They gave him all sorts of extra channels (including the NBC/ABC/CBS west coast feeds) for free and said it was permanent. Then they started taking them away without more money till the deal was worse than cable. Thats the way they always have done it.
Although I hate Insight cable, I have BTN for no extra cost.

Well if cable was never around then we would all still only have 3/4 stations to watch.

Why is it that people feel the BTN owes them anything? They are there to make money....and some of that profit actually even goes back to the schools. You have options of how you can see the Ohio State games....you have known about these options for almost a year. If you haven't made changes yet, that is your fault not the BTN's

I certainly remember "having" to listen to a lot of the Buckeye games on 1460 because they were not on tv (cable or otherwise) And as much as I hate that it is more difficult to see all of the games now, I would rather have more of the cable money go to tOSU than Bristol, Conn and eSpin and their cohorts.

FOX is no dummy... there's too much money to be made on college football (or college athletics in general).
Exactly. It is no coincidence at all that the 100 plus package that is required for BTN also adds the Fox Sports Network to your lineup. A sports package that had almost no legs is now getting a large amount of subscribers that had no intention of ever subscribing.
