Bill O’Brien (HC Boston College, aka BillyBob O’Buttchin et al)

ESPN Article
Best coach: Penn State's O'Brien. The first-year boss has kept his team focused despite the rocky offseason and the 0-2 start. He has modernized the offense and helped McGloin transform his game. He has worked around depth issues and identified new standouts such as Robinson. This season easily could have gotten away after all Penn State had been through, but O'Brien has things stabilized as the Lions chase the Leaders Division title. Ohio State's Meyer and Northwestern's Pat Fitzgerald also merit mentions.

Iowa stomping a new asshole for the Pedsters would make me feel a whole lot better about our game. I don't know if this bunch is psychologically ready to handle a letdown now that they've been riding so high. Of course that's counting on Iowa pulling their heads out of their asses.

Bill O'Brien won't commit to Penn State return

Bill O'Brien has been the antidote to all that ails Penn Staters these days. Patriot-News writers David Jones had to ask him in a clear yes/no manner whether he would be the Penn State coach next season. "You guys gave legs last week to a story that... there's no story there. Y'know, I'm focused on one game at a time. I'm focused on this football team. That's not something that I even think about. I think about that I'm the head football coach at Penn State. And I'm looking forward to getting this team ready for Wisconsin," O'Brien said. Jones: "It's a yes or no question." O'Brien: "It might be for you. For me, it's Wisconsin. And this football team and this senior class. That's where I think the questions should be directed: Indiana. The senior class. Getting ready for Wisconsin." Jones: "Well, that's gonna sound to the fans like you're noncommittal." O'Brien: "I'm the head football coach at Penn State. I love coaching here. And I can't get back to work on Monday and get ready for Wisconsin."

Dude seems like a solid human being and fairly intelligent. He just has to be scratching his head now that he's seen the cult up close and personal. Seriously, can you think he hears about Lubrano, sees all the 409 and JoePed shirts or reads about crazy-ass Franco or the cult rallies for resignations and his head doesn't just fucking spin?
