all I can do is just shake my head at those idiots. I get better UC news and more intelligent discussion on an OHIO STATE board than I could ever find elsewhere. unreal..
Sumlin from Houston would be my number 1 choice to replace BK (sorry Bucky Katt..
)...after that, I'd go for the current UC OC (Jeff Quinn) though he will likely keep up his 26 year tradition of riding BK's coat tails and head off to ND...my 3rd choice would be the man Kelly groomed to replace him at CMU, Butch Jones.
If UC is to try to remain at the level Kelly and Dantonio pushed them to...it has to be one of these three, in my opinion.

What about current GVSU coach Chuck Martin? 74-6 record since taking over for Kelly. What's your opinion of Al Golden? Would UC give him a look?

The Big East only has enough fans to support one team. They rotate each season based on who has the best chance to win the league. Do that and win a couple of non-conference games and you can always make the case that your team is approaching the pinnacle of college football.

Sumlin is from Indianapolis, and played at Purdue. Interesting. He could be an even better fit than I thought if he's looking to get back to the Midwest.

If Kerry Coombs remains at UC (which I think he will), then UC could have some interesting connections to both Ohio and Texas when it comes to recruiting. If UC starts getting second and third tier kids from Texas to go with the second and third tier kids from Ohio I would think UC would still be able to challenge for the Big East most years...
but you're absolutely right about the defense. A new DC will need to be found.
