Cam Newton (QB New England Patriots)

Newton was on Leno, wouldn't say if he is returning for his senior year. Jay said he could stay with him for the 4 days he has left to make his decision so that he would be the first one to know, Cam joked that he wasn't sure if the NCAA would allow that.

I agree, oversigning will put an asterisk next to every SEC championship until the loopholes are closed. I didn't expect you to come around to quickly on this issue.

Good luck to the GM/Coach that drafts him...

no shit...seems pretty high for a guy with one season and has yet to take a snap from under center in his college carreer...unless you count the victory knee. When I watch him play, I see him doing the same stuff that TP does and is critisized for. He throws a lot of passes off of his back foot, even when there is little pressure. He will throw late over the middle. He will throw accross his body on roll outs back to the middle. Also, it seems like most of his throws are 1 read. The coaches are reading the defense for him pre snap as the whole team always looks to the bench after they are set.

The guy is an awesome college QB though....I just don't see him as a first round QB right now with TP projected as a second day pick at QB. In my IMO, Newton throws a better ball but TP is light years ahead of him as a QB that drops back, looks over the field, and has to decide where to go with the ball

Precisely. Now if I could just think of a former college QB who Newton reminds me of...
