CB Doran Grant (Official Thread)

At this point you shouldn't be worried, every Ohio kid you want, you get.

There will be a time where an Ohio kid goes elsewhere over tOSU, because he likes the other school more, for PT, etc.

Grant may be the kid to break the mold. If his heart was set on being a Buckeye, he would have committed by now, he hasn't. It's been down to MSU and tOSU for some time, yet no decision.

This is a two team race, and MSU is one of the teams involved, and we have a shot. We would love to have Doran, more than you would.

More than we would? Based on what? Based on that you could "use" him more than us? Trust me, JT and staff want this kid bad. As do we fans.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but there's a reason why we haven't gone after any more CB's for a good while. For example, when DePriest chose Alabama, we shortly thereafter offered a handful of potential MLB prospects. I'm pretty sure Grant knows where to go if he wants to drastically increase his odds of playing corner in the NFL.

I'm sure you know a bit about recruiting. A lot of these kids have their minds made up for months and don't commit. Could very well be the case here. They don't get the star love and drama if they commit early...but like I said, you probably already know that. I wouldn't have said anything if it weren't for the quoted piece above. Either way, I think he's in the bag. I trust our insider network and site moderation/administration over anyone.

couldn't you say the exact same thing about MSU?

if his heart was set on being a Spartan, he would have committed by now, yet no commitment...

it's understandable that you would like the kid to be a Spartan, but things are getting a little desperate up north when you have to turn to rationales like that

the writing is on the wall with this one, MSU is pulling out all the stops (the whole "you can plan both ways" reeks of desperation) but they are still fighting an uphill battle

could it be that Grant has been a Buckeye for months, and he is just being respectful to his dad by giving MSU a second, third, fourth, and fifth look?

that seems just as likely as anything you are hoping is going on

What?! Don't be ridiculous, as soon as kids know where they want to go they commit immediately!
