Adams, a right-handed hitter, played 31 games at third, nine at second and four at first for the Yankees.
plus we have these guys now

Word has it they have signed Axford...not sure how I feel about that, but at least he was good at the job...once upon a time.

Another Tribe dumpster dive/reclamation gamble. IF the 2011 Axford shows up, he'll be a big upgrade over Perez at half of what they would have paid Perez after arbitration. Or he can be another Myers and spend the season on the DL before being DFA. They'll double down this bet by hoping, wishing and praying that Vinnie can bounce back.

Those 2 wagers are your 2014 Tribe season. Win em both: possible playoff team. Lose em both and they'll be dumping payroll and trading for minor league pitching by the end of June. Split? Roller coaster year.

Don't forget to add the Josh Tomlin/Shaun Marcum reclamation in the rotation project...they are counting on those guys to either be the #5 or help in the pen.

I do not know much about this guy but from what I have read it sounds like we are pouring gasoline on the dumpster. I will give Josh a chance before throwing him in the dumpster.

Marcum is much like everyone else the Indians sign...he was good once (actually from 2007 all the way up to 2012) but he was a flaming dumpster full of toe fungus last year (1-10, 5.29). It's the old "We hope we are getting what he was and not what he is" like Murphy, Stubbs, Reynolds, Myers, Wood, etc., etc., etc.

So for Drew Stubbs we got...a guy good against lefties and a bottle rocket against righties. Well, if he can get lefties out, he is an upgrade over Rich Hill, so I guess you can look at it that way. Still seems like garbage in, garbage out kind of deal.

Upgrade over Rich Hill. I'll take it. And he presumably won't strike out as often as Stubbs. Personally, I'm pretty ok with the Tribe staying clear of the FA market this year.... when teams are throwing 5 mill a year at lefty relievers (that aren't really even set up guys) and Choo is turning down 140 mill... don't get yourself in that mess.

i heard a stat on sports radio today that last year MLB salaries, cumulatively increased 5.4% for the 2013 season, the largest single season jump ever. And FA this year is outpacing last year by a long shot. the largest spending per player, at over $8 million per player, was of course, the yankees.

Outman wears #88, old-school stirrups and most importantly didn't go to TSUN. So I welcome him and fuck the scUMmer Rich Hill.

That said, Raburn/Murphy better earn their $ because the OF depth is razor-thin. I know you can't carry an extra OF just for defensive/pinch-running purposes in the AL, but these two are average at best in the field.
