I hope the Pittman commitment isn't a deal killer.

doubt it would be...im sure urban has laid out the gameplan and told him there was this possibility of pittman committing...still room for spence so lets see how he feels after he comes here for his visit

Spence won't take a backseat to anyone, and he will have a scholarship from Ohio State until he signs with someone else.

Besides, Pittman is a really big kid already and could potentially slide down and play some tackle.

Any thoughts on the possibility of Spence to strong side backer? Any film of him standing up? Or is he strictly a hand on the ground type? Honestly I havent seen that much film of him but what I did see he finds the ball well and gets to it even better.:osu:

Don't think so. I am sure he is aware of who we else we were recruiting for the DL. Pittman is likely a SSDE, while Spence and Washington are LEOs. His competition is either already on the roster or takes the form of Washington, not Pittman. So methinks he's quite aware.

Positive Spin: Pittman/Schutt will help keep Spence from being double teamed and Pittman/Schutt will, at times, send the QB running towards Spence. Washington will share time with Spence, give each other breathers, and keep each other from needing to play hurt.

I can totally see us using 4 DE's to get after the QB after we build a big lead on them at times under corch Meyer. There is going to be some games where we "unleash the hounds" on people.

If Spence comes on board I might just lose it!!!

Spence is my favorite non-committed recruit at this point. I've watched every film I could get my hands on and the kid is just flat out explosive off the line and immediately stands up the opposition. Furthmore, he's got great vision and speed.....I know DL is pretty full right now, but we have to make room for this kid if he says yes.

I still think he's Urban's #1 target. Would be shocked if it isn't full steam ahead trying to land him.

Agreed...Urban, Fickell and Vrabel are going to see him play Friday night. I would say that shows OSU's level of interest...

You can never have too many quality d linemen on your roster. Ask the sec, there's a reason they dominate the college football landscape. The sec has given everyone the blueprint on how to be successful, but the problem is most of the top dl recruits are from the south and don't want to leave, or they're from different regions and want to go south. Outside of tosu, Oklahoma, Texas, USC and a select few others most cannot stock their defense with top end pass rushers annually. That's why what urban is doing now, and who he's bringing in in such a short time is simply amazing. If we can continually bring in this topflight d linemen, then sky's the limit for our team. Because even this year can attest that you don't need much offense to get to the NC if your d line is dominant and your DB's are ballhawks or are at least solid in coverage
