On the line: Noah Spence, rated by Rivals.com as the top defensive end prospect in the nation, could be leaning toward the Buckeyes.

Without the benefit of Skype, Greg Spence?s smile still came through loud and clear on the cell phone the other day as he spoke about the scheduled official visit by his son ? blue chip defensive end prospect Noah Spence -- to Ohio State this weekend.

?This is going to be his first official visit, and if my son feels it in his heart and his gut the way he?s been feeling, this could be his last,? Greg Spence said.

Not that Noah Spence, from Harrisburg (McDevitt), Pa., necessarily will make a proclamation of his college intentions upon departure. One of the more sought-after players in the country, he has promised to hold off declaring his choice until the Under Armour All-American all-star game on Jan.5, his father said.

But the hint was stout, that Noah Spence, ranked No.1 among defensive end prospects nationally by rivals.com, is a heavy lean toward OSU and its new head coach Urban Meyer with a strong assist from the primary recruiter on the case and assistant coach Mike Vrabel.

?So yes, it?s pretty big weekend, and we look forward to it,? Greg Spence said.

Rough night for his team so far. 0 : 45 at the end of 3rd quarter. Props to the new guy for the link.

What psychological state does this put Noah Spence in before his big trip to OSU? Maybe he will be a little sick of losing and wants to sign with a team that will win? Maybe he looks at the great defensive line in progress at tOSU and likes it? Maybe LSU wins the title and he goes to LSU? Maybe Saban knocks of LSU and January, and since Alabama is not one of his teams, he comes to UFM?

Anyway, I counted something like 8 tackles that Noah Spence made in 3 quarters, using the link above.
