General Recruiting Discussion and Tangents (Merged)

Can't blame Dorsey for exploring options other than UF.
Dorsey must have realized the Gator recruiting class (26 verbal commits) was getting crowded in the Defensive Backfield (5 top 100 commits).
Besides 4 star safety, Dorsey, the other DB's pledged to the Gators were:
5 star safety Matt Elam
4 star safety Jonathan Dowling
4 star safety Jordan Haden
4 star corner Jaylen Watkins
4 star corner Josh Shaw
4 star corner Cody Riggs
3 star corner Robert Clark.

The visit to FSU is interesting since, Florida State does not appear to have many needs in the DB class either.
Seven of the 21 FSU commits are DB's, but their quality seems to be evaluated lower than UF.
Usc class is light on DB's, and so it appears to be a much more favorable location for Dorsey.
Will be interesting to see how the USC visit goes this weekend.

Let me make sure I understand this correctly, Florida can continue to recruit players that have committed to another school, bring them in for a visit, but as soon as a player that has committed to Florida visits another school Florida is done with him. I wonder if Urban saw this playing out in a dream and didn't like the outcome so he made the first move to make it seem Florida didn't actually want the kid.

Actually, I don't think Florida asked him to move on because he chose to visit another school. I think Florida decided they just had better fish to fry and hence asked him to move on so that they could focus on what they perceive to be better athletes.

There is the place most are reluctant to mention - the place where only a Kwisatz Haderach may look.

Anything more on this?
He is considering the current bottom feeders of the recruiting world right now-FSU,USC,Tenn,scUM. He has been playing games w/ the Gator staff all year, worrying about early PT,etc. They probably got sick of him-they have Elam, and another 5 star safety Jonathan Dowling.

Every thread turns into and Urban jokefest...fantastic.

Joyner's teammate who really impressed me, RB Giovanni Bernard, has dropped ND for South Carolina.
