Joker is hitting Cincinnati hard.

Here in Northeast Ohio, OSU is college sports, as far as the media is concerned. OSU gets pretty much the same attention as the Browns, Cavs, and Indians. Check out the format of The Cleveland Plain Dealer's sports page.

It's my understanding that OSU doesn't get the same love from the Cincinnati media. I recall someone saying, UK gets as much press as OSU. I'm really surprised UK hasn't gone harder after Cincinnati recruits in the past.

This is true, UK gets as much press as OSU, if not more. Cincinnati media's coverage of college sports in general is severely lacking.

Your perception is reality. UK, UC, XU, Miami, and even U of L are all covered more thoroughly than tOSU by the media down here in my opinion. There is an exception, however: when something bad happens at tOSU, it is front page news. Doesn't really matter, though. The internet has largely made such issues irrelevant.

Agree about UK as well - seems like it would be a given that they would hit this area really hard every year.

Regarding tOSU, in contrast to how Tressel's staff seemed to approach recruiting Cincy, I doubt that UFM and staff will leave any stones unturned down here (or anywhere else in the state/country, for that matter)...

It would be wise of urban to look to cincy more than the previous staff. Kids would love to go to osu, but osu rarely showed the love back. Brian kelly and mark dantonio scooped those kids up in a heartbeat with little competition. Colerain, elder, muller and st x could consistently send players to columbus if urban came calling

Heck even Boston College gets some real players from Cincinnati.
