LB Jerome Baker (Seattle Seahawks)

That takes balls. I'll never understand someone growing up a big fan of someone only to go elsewhere when said team offers but good luck Jerome.

Growing up a fan and spending the next 4-5 years of your life though are two drasticly different things. Where you feel most comfortable, your relationships you build during the process, educational differences, environment, etc. all play a role. Jerome made a decision he feels is the right thing and best fit for him, and I'm sure it was a very tough decision to make. Now as it gets closer to signing time it's possible the realization that he's moving such a distance away from his home may make him rethink, maybe it won't, but for now it seems like it'll stick. Best of luck to Jerome, a kid whose deserved the opportunities in front of him.

I get the impression that Florida applied some pressure to get this commitment and Baker is not at all solid or comfortable with it. The "no comment" policy at the press conference was odd to say the least.

Can you elaborate? I didn't get to see the announcement.

In all I am happy he's doing what makes him happy. Like I said I wish him nothing but the best.

Not really much to elaborate on. He invites the media to a press conference to announce his college decision during which, he, his coach and his family refused to talk with the media.

There are many tweets from reporters calling this a "soft" commitment that I don't feel like finding right now.

Hasn't he had a projected commitment date for some time now?
I think it's only been a few weeks, so I guess it depends on whether you consider that "some time now" or not.

Florida has a stretch of games where they will go 0-4 and after that which is about sometime in October look for Jerome to official visit us and then it gets real.

Florida goes at Alabama, at Tennessee, LSU, and then Missouri. Oh that still doesn't include Georgia, South Carolina, and at FSU. If they manage 2 of those games as wins then maybe they get to 6 wins.
