LB Joshua Perry (National Champion, BTN CFB Analyst)

Good question. Carpenter came to mind, but Perry is a much more gifted athlete. Watching him hurdle and long jump in high school was a sight to see.

The frightening thing is that he isn't maxed out physically. He is still lean with room to grow.

I keep thinking about this as well. Very gifted athletically and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Perfect combo. If he has a break out year it could be just the spark this defense needs.

Ozone feature article:

... When the Buckeyes opened their 2012 season, there were three freshmen linebackers in Ohio State's two-deep. David Perkins and Camren Williams, both of whom had committed to Meyer, and Perry, who had committed to Ohio State before Meyer had even coached his final season at Florida.
At the end of the season, however, Perry was the lone freshman linebacker still in the two-deep, and the only one getting any meaningful defensive snaps ...

Lots of positive chatter on Perry and I am not surprised...I expect to see Shazier and Perry as our primary LBs, with Powell in the nickel. Amazed at what our S&C program has done for him but he even looks like an absolute monster in pads...

Him and Powell are the 2 names out there that did not have huge impacts last year that if they step up big for this defense, I don't see any drop off from last year's positive 2nd half and it could surpass what last year's defense did as a unit.
