LB Nick Conner (Official Thread)

Like Nick's film. Definitely worthy of an offer. Deberry is DE all the way and Baker is a LB all the way. Jerome has openly stated of late that he wants and plans to play LB. I also think while he's a nice HS running back, he isn't dynamic at that position. He's an OLB all the way and Im glad that's where he wants to play.

Connor, Lane, Baker, and Hilliard and call it a day

That is my exact list. Back to 85 scholarships and I will take those 4 any day.

After watching his HUDL film, this kid has heart in spades ala Zach Boren. Wherever he ends up, he has future captain written on him. Urban's type of guy. Hope he receives an offer because we couldn't have enough guys that have his heart on this football team.

I'm sure he'll get an offer in time, but there's a few southern kids that are a little higher on the board for now. I bet Nick would wait on the offer and would understand the position he's in with OsU. Doesn't take away from the fact that the kid is still a very good LB

Really impressive to see him perform well at the combine. You can see on film that he is a natural with pads on but it is a huge plus to see him display his athleticism and coverage skills at a combine.

Agreed. Dude is a stud. A classic hard hitting LB, at first I thought hed be an old school LB that couldn't keep with covering in space, glad I was proved wrong. He would've been offered already by the previous staff, but I'm sure the current coaches are still looking at guys like Holland and Kilby first, though it'd be great to offer him first as I'm sure MSU will start to come hard at him

HUDL

First thing that jumps out is the kid's instincts for the position. Already better at getting proper depth on drops than some of our 2 or 3 years guys on the roster. If Conner was in this year's class, I'd venture to say that he'd be the best LB in this class among Berger, Booker and Fern. He's that good, and word is he might get offered soon.

Finally got a chance to watch the entire film. Really incredible player (see the 2:10 mark, yikes) that could be ready to play right away. Closes in a hurry, blows up gaps, great in his drops in coverage, very athletic, wraps up well, plays with a ton of heart and puts the team on his back, and loves to hit. Plenty big but plenty of room to add good weight. I have no idea why we haven't offered yet but hopefully it is in the works. Local kid that could wind up being the best of any LB we take in the '15 class.
