If cold weather is that much of a factor for a recruit--any recruit--then it may be best for that recruit to seek a warmer climate institution. I personally wouldn't a recruit who hates cold weather dressed in S&G during The Game. I'd prefer a kid who's ready to play in heat, cold, rain, shine, snow, hail, etc.

Ya, I agree. But I dont want Shazier to think its always this cold, Its Freezing right now.

its freezing everywhere in america besides florida right now...i dont think weather is a factor at all anyways because if it was then he wouldnt even be considering us...we play football in cold weather....and i think having Cash as his teammate is also a big plus for ohio state that will end up factoring in IF he does choose tOSU

really, osu doesn't play that many games in cold weather, but you do have to tolerate the cold for 3 months otherwise.

Sheesh, I don't think performance would drop during The Game simply because a player hates cold weather to such a strong degree. I hate cold weather too but that didn't have any bearing on how hard I cheered in November :). I think it is completely understandable for a Florida kid to want to stay south and to allow that to factor into his decision. This isn't the case of an Ohio-born Buckeye fan going to UF.

You guys may be right but I just don't have a good feeling, whatever the reason.

Likely because we miss 9 times out of 10 in situations like these down the road. Your guarded optimism is warranted. I'm hoping we still land Shazier and he is that 1 out of 10, but I'm not holding my breath.

Let's not forget how we got here... Ryan was committed elsewhere... we're trying to steal him away from Florida... nothing to lose here...

Agreed, just my humble opinion, UF's choice of Muschamp, who has expertize on the defensive side of the ball, sealed the deal for UF with Shazier, and Curtis Grant.

New Florida football coach Will Muschamp already has long to-do list - Palm Beach Post

Two players in doubt are linebacker Ryan Shazier from Plantation and Pensacola-Pine Forest's Louchiez Purifoy. Both players have spoke with Muschamp but are considering other options.

Purifoy told the Gainesville Sun he will visit Auburn and Alabama soon.

Shazier said he now is considering LSU and Ohio State.

"I'm still not sure what school I'm going to," Shazier said. "I was thinking about changing that a little bit before (Meyer) stepped down and now I'm not sure. I was too focused on the coach and not the school."

Muschamp already on recruiting trail - Gator Sports

Plantation linebacker Ryan Shazier said he's also committed to Florida, but could be wavering a bit as well. Shazier officially visited LSU last Friday after hearing the news of Urban Meyer's resignation. He then hosted Ohio State coach Jim Tressel for an in-home visit this weekend.

Shazier said the visit was "real good" and he will officially visit Ohio State on Wednesday. Shazier has spoken to Muschamp but said he doesn't know where he'll stand with his commitment after the visit.

Shazier will have 'decision' Friday - Gator Sports

After being the first Florida commit to score a visit on Muschamp's wild recruiting road trip, Plantation linebacker Ryan Shazier came away feeling a little better about his commitment to the Gators.

Shazier spent most of the night grilling Muschamp about what the future of Florida holds for him. The two discussed the type of staff he'd like to bring in and how Shazier fits in. Without going into much detail, Shazier just said he feels very comfortable with Muschamp and thinks he connected well with him.

"(The visit) was really good," Shazier said. "I like him and what his plans are."

If you have a source, give it. There are surely some out there.

Otherwise, keep premium information on the boards where it belongs (that includes if your friend heard it somewhere but isn't sure where).

Its not premium...go to the Florida free board on scout...nothing premium about it...they are in meltdown mode.

After seeing this, I went to google and typed in his name, and there are easily a dozen updates in the last 15 minutes in the "real time results" of people (writers, etc) reporting the news that he's decomitted from Florida and will decide between Ohio State and LSU today. So, definitely not premium info.
