Gives a few more days to focus on Miami as well.

That's three great reasons:

1. National exposure on Thursday night
2. The team is able to start practice a few days early
3. The team will have a couple extra days to prepare for Miami

Sounds good to me all around. Also, for me, weekends are my busiest work days, so I might be able to fly out to Columbus mid-week, catch the game, then fly back Friday and be ready for a busy work weekend.

Me likey...

I hate this move. Big Ten football is played on Saturdays. More exposure? Other teams mover to Thursdays so they can get out of Ohio State's shadow. Ohio State does not need that kind of move.

?Along with providing maximum national exposure for our Rose Bowl champions, this unique starting date and time allows our team and fans to escape the heat of the day, and breaks up a string of four consecutive Saturday home games to start the season.

?It will allow fans to enjoy other events throughout the Labor Day weekend. We see it as a treat for Buckeye fans and an exciting way to open the 2010 campaign.?
Breaks up a string of four straight home games? Did you hear any of us complaining about that? And seriously, what should other Labor Day stuff have to do with this? My friends and family all know that if they want me to show up to something that is not their funeral, it damn sure better not be during an Ohio State game.

If it's about getting extra practices or something, that's something I can get behind. Just say so next time instead of bullshitting me.

Exactly. Also, if it's their funeral, it's not like they're gonna be upset that you weren't there.

This just plain sucks.

If it's THEE First game of the year by EVERYBODY's preseason pick to play for the title, it's kind of special isn't it? It'll draw a huge rating because everybody's thirst for football season is off the charts then and they'll love tuning in to see if Pryor has the same goods or better than he brought to the Rose Bowl. It's how the hype machine will kick off the season (ESPN).
