NCAA Football 12 + Rosters

Now you actually have to take a look at a defense fellas.

*Pressure? Blitz?

*Safeties?

*Press?

*Protections?

*Zone? Man? & Matchups.

I know I wasn't the only one doing that in '11. You guys were too. All you have to do is work on timing. If you miss a window to throw, defenses will make you pay for forcing it. Now more then ever you have to take what you're given. I like it myself.

I agree that harder passing is better... but I think it will be a matter of time before everyone figures out how to read the D in this game.

I looooove that you can run inside now. I've broken a couple ISOs for long runs.

That last game against the Oregon player - I was up 16-0 and just eating clock. About 3:00 minutes left I was just outside of the redzone - called a weakside ISO out an off-set I.

He had brought up the FS and spilt the backers out wide trying to crash down the line and stop me. Boren crushed the safety and Boom took it the distance.

Great feeling...

Yeah yeah yeah. I've done all that. Anyways, I've started a dynasty as Def Coordinator for SDSU. Lets see how that goes.

Played Through A Full Season of Dynasty.
Bought this game yesterday and played through a FULL SEASON. I can happily admit that I'm actually satisfied with NCAA this year.

Here are my Dynasty Settings.
Skill: Heisman
Recruit Diff: Heisman
Quarter Length: 6 minutes ( Thinking about adding an extra min)
Gm Speed: Slow
Speed Threshold: 25
Game Rules: all standard
Custom AI: Standard

Finished my first season at MICH going 11-3 with loses to ND, NB, & Stanford in Rose Bowl.

Gameplay
Overall the gameplay is mildly realistic and exciting at times.I ran the ball tons of times just going over 1000 yards on the season with 193 rushing attempts with my RB. D Rob passed for 2909 yds on 354 attempts 25 TD 7 ints & 671 rush yds on 141 attempts. Passing game is better with addition of the functioning zone defense. Rolling out with D. Rob expecting to find 2/3 WR open is no longer a guaranty, therefore making the player mix up the playcalling (which you should always do anyway). Play-action worked a majority of the time for me due to me running the ball down teams throats for a couple drives. The long passing game is an area I haven't touched on such being that D-Rob can't throw the ball more than 40 yds.

My defense played as it should.... good D-line play with my secondary allowing large passing plays every game
frown.gif
. Tackling is now harder now making angles harder to judge when going for a tackle. Defensive playcalling matters in the 4th quarter if you're trying to negate the CPU cheese. There were times when I had the wrong personnel on the field and the CPU recognized this and started running hurry up offense forcing me to burn timeouts. The now functioning defense makes using the adjustments worthwhile for zone coverage. I remember having the short zone adj. on when the cpu was in the redzone, I accidentally left it on and got burned for a deep TD pass on their next possession.

A few things I noticed:
During my rivalry game with OSU i scored first and got the 2pt conversion. OSU came right back and scored and went for the 2pt conversion too ... at least making it seem like a rivalry game.

CPU scrambling almost made me throw my controller through my tv lol.

Recruting
Finished 11th in Recruiting with thirteen 4*, three 3*, and one 2* JUCO and no 5* signed. I had 3/4 instant commits after the first 3 weeks and after that I had to pour TONS of time into the others. The top 10 teams DID NOT ALL HAVE 5* signed which is nice, they were spreadout amongst the top 50 teams being that there are so few. LSU came in 1st with two 5*, eleven 4* , and a handful of 3* prospects. Oregon TCU, OSU, TEXAS, USC, TA&M were also some notables in recruiting.

*** Note *****
I let the CPU help recruit for me during the offseason since I couldn't bare to do anymore and I ended up with 14 WR's on my depth chart (WR wasn't a need). This is probably fixable if I went and put in my cpu recruiting plan position balnce.

Incoming Recruits

Out of all the Incoming freshman the best recruit was rated 81 OVR. A few 80 OVR ( no more than 15) a plentiful amount in the 70-79 range, and about just as much if not more in the 60-70 range. This was a WR heavy class. It's only been one season but there tends to be a bias between OFF players AWR and DEF player AWR.

Just a glimpse at some recruit ratings

Player Training

Noticed a 5-6 pt AWR bump for everyone on the roster.

Here are season stats for my RBs

#33 Stephen Hopkins

Rush Attempts: 193
Rush Yds: 1,056
Avg Yds Per Rush: 5.5
Avg Yds Per Game: 75.4
Rushing Tds: 9
Yds After 1st Hit: 255
Rush of 20yds or more: 3
BTKs: 12
Fumbles: 4
32 Rececptions
208 Rec Yds
2 TD rec
YAC: 127

#2 Vincent Smith
Rush Attempts: 8
Rush Yds: 41
Avg Yds Per Rush: 5.1
Avg Yds Per Game: 4.1
Rushing Tds: 1
Yds After 1st Hit: 10
Rush of 20yds or more: 0
BTKs: 0
Fumbles: 0
0 Rececptions
0 Rec Yds
0 TD rec
YAC: 0

Hopkins OVR went up +5 and Smiths +6
Hopkins AWR went up +4 and Smiths +5
Hopkins BCV went up +10 and Smiths + 4
They both got +4 on their CAR rating and received even bumps across the board.

It's clear that the only thing really affected was the BCV which shot up +10 due to the amount of carries I fed him.

Other than that no other players distanced themselves from one another in terms of training results.

My Coach prestige was at a D+ at the start and now It's an A+ this season, I will see how it plays out from here.

EA really sold the dynamic lighting poorly. They spent so much time focusing on the stadium lights in fancy replays that they undersold the major improvements to field lighting. The low sunlight in a bowl looks a lot different than a noon kickoff, and the shadows look a lot better as well.

On the other hand, the ESPN block graphics look terrible. I know they're the real thing, but they are both poorly done and very glitchy. Whether the 360 can't handle the graphical calculations or whether the programming was poor, they run like an emachines playing Counterstrike on internal video settings.

2 things that are pissing me off about this game

1)amount of injuries (im getting at least 3 per game)
2)Trips set is a instant win each time, the defenders go full retard...twice there has been a hail marry trips, and both times were caught for TD's, it's been 1 defender vs 3

NCAA 12 Real Ohio State Rosters

osubucksfan2 wrote: After 'Fairdale Kings' and the 'OS Community Rosters' finishes their named rosters, I will be hard at work in making good Ohio State rosters for your dynasty.

The FK rosters come out tonight (names only)
The OS Community Rosters come out next week (depth chart, names, equipment, etc.)

These wont be some regular 'Joe shmo" rosters bc I will have help (only if I need it) from my roomates on the OSU FB team to try and get everything accurate. As fall camp rolls along I will update the rosters (depth chart), based on the real team..
