Nick Saban (ex-HC Alabama Crimson Tide)

I had no idea this was true or allowed.

It's got to be some sort of un-record. Not only do they play two FCS teams, they are the reigning national champs and play 2 FCS teams in the same season.

Oh it's allowed...one of the other SEC heavyweights did it last year as well (LSU? Florida?) I can't remember which one though...

it was A&M.
they had an excuse (not a good one).

by switching conferences, they lost a conference game.
and when they couldn't get Texas to fill that extra OOC slot, they had to scramble and take what they could get.
which was a FCS school even though they already had one on their schedule.

Poor planning on their part, so it's a shitty excuse.

I have no idea what's Bama's reasoning for doing it.

personally, I wish scheduling FCS was completely outlawed.

it pisses me off to no end that as an LSU fan that attends a lot of games, that we don't get better OOC teams to see.

And when we do schedule them, they're at "neutral" sites.
2010 we played North Carolina in Atlanta
2011 Oregon in Dallas
2013 TCU in Dallas
2014 Wisconsin (still in discussion. potentially in Houston, Dallas, or Green Bay)

but Bama fans bitch that LSU typically schedules their bye week the week before Bama.

Alabama 2013 schedule

September 7th - bye
September 14th - Texas A&M

November 2nd - bye
November 9th - LSU

WTF are they bitching about again? Do they know how to talk out of both sides of their mouths or what?

And Bama only schedules out of conference marquee games with a long break between games.

If you count only neutral site season openers against Clemson, Virginia Tech and Michigan, then yes - they had the whole off season to prepare.
Otherwise, no week break preceeded any of their previous big OOC games.

Above image being circulated to Bama targets and recruits. Fucking brilliant.
