Which Buckeye had the greatest impact on the Ohio State history of the position he played?

Yeah, I think there’s some of each, but I think from the results we’ve seen, not every 4 or even 5-star high schooler isn’t able or willing to make the jump that he requires. He brings in guys he thinks may have a chance, but they’re not all, obviously, going to get there. I’m ok with that, but I would prefer that we bring in a few more lineman.
For all of the faults of Zach Smith, his rotations at WR rarely saw much drop off and he recruited at a level that was up there with Hartline, though the highs of Hartline are unprecedented. But Smith wasn’t afraid to throw guys in there and see what they can do with the lights on. And some kids need that. And in the era of NIL, few kids are willing to wait multiple years for what their coach thinks when their ready

Smith wasn’t afraid to do that because he kind of had to. The receivers had a terrible time trying to create separation under Smith.

Yes, but the point is, he wasn't afraid to let more players play. And Jalin Marshall, Curtis Samuel, Austin Mack, Terry McLaurin, KJ Hill and Parris Campbell didn't have problems separating from DBs.
Hartline has let at most 5 players play while Smith played up to 7. There were too many times watching Fleming drop a ball, yet he kept getting trotted out. Egbuka gets injured, so he plays X more or Fleming more. Why couldn't Inniss have seen PT or Rogers or Antwi? I know we're not at practice, but there was enough interweb info coming out that all 3 had great weeks of practice, only to be relegated to special teams. I get it, people like to brag about Fleming's blocking skills, but he also should be able to catch the ball. What's the point in stockpiling WR talent, just to sit them multiple years. And then act surprised when they leave.

Agreed and wouldn’t playing new guys make scouting more difficult? I really don’t think it was hard to guess the Buckeye passing game - screen or sideline heave to Marv.

Sorry but I don’t think Egbuka and definitely Fleming were putting any real fear into the defense this year. But a new speedy frosh? And one that wants to bite/make plays! What route tree can he run? What do I need to be prepared for on defense? Go let them be a spark.

Instead the whole offense has become stale. From the outside it doesn’t feel like a real competitive environment or one that guys are juiced up to play for.

Seems like the offensive staff isn’t aligned at all on overall goals, weekly gameplans and definitely not gameday execution.

Think we've always wondered why there isn't more rotation on the WR and DL. tOSU obviously has the depth to keep people 'fresh', and without much of a drop-off in talent. Forgoing the DL, Hartline has said, if you can outplay a potential 1st rounder, then you can get in. Or some such thing. OK, agreed, but after the WR runs 40 yards, he's a bit winded, so makes sense to sub him out. In comes another fine WR. Then follows there are six WRs playing/getting reps. Have always heard that Hartline doesn't let the WRs in, unless they commit to blocking, either at the line of scrimmage, or downfield. That really shouldn't be a hang-up for the back-up WRs, as I'd bet that during the recruiting process, that aspect of playing the position was certainly mentioned. Pretty certain haven't answered anything, simply put more issues on the table. Go Bucks! PS, we'll see how Jeremiah Smith handles the dirtier aspects of the position, namely blocking....stay tuned.

Miami fans are telling each other and praying that Hartline leaves for the UCLA position
in the past when you’ve said something that sounds like gibberish to me it’s because you follow recruiting and I don’t

with that as my only clue, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that Miami has been the bridesmaid for several high-end receivers lately, and that they’d have an amazing wr room if it weren’t for Brian Hartline

Jeremiah Smith, and Innis are both from south Florida. And Tate went to ImG though was from Chicago. They swear they would have had all 3 if not for Hartline.
