Never forget 1994. Every Ohio voter went for Nebraska that year. I do believe this is the first time the 1994 vote has ever been discussed on a PSU board. :smash:

Elmgrovegnome: " I think it comes down to this. Some people loved Joe and many people hated him. When someone is lauded for their ability to stick to their principles and their morality, it rubs all of the others that know they cannot do that the wrong way.

Proof of the hatred of Joe was the lack of support from most of the country during the scandal. They always saw PSU as being on their 'High Horse' and couldn't stand it. "The Grand Experiment" coinage was also irksome because cheaters hate to have it thrown in their faces that they are cheaters. The SEC gets along so well because they all do the same things."

There's a thread on BWI about Franklin bolting to take Muschamp's job (if he gets fired, wink wink) at Florida. Of course, it's all nonsense, but how awesome would that be? That would rank up there with Ohio State dropping an attempt at an interception, and the replay booth just giving it to Ohio State.
C'mon man! We all know stuff like that never happens! :biggrin2:

Given what we know about Joe, that statement is one of the most irrational things they've written. And that's saying something.

There's so much dissonance in the reasoning expressed there, it makes my head swim.

The underlying message gives you some faith in humanity, though. A lot of people figured out JoePa was an evil old fraud before they knew he covered up for a pedophile for decades.

What the cult fails to realize is that everyone who grew to hate JoePa over the years has been absolutely vindicated. The world was right and continues to be right about him and his legacy.

tOSU's (and ref's victory) of PSU watched by 4.7 million Sat night

The cult is giving credit to all of the fans of all of the teams that played that game not named Ohio State. They say that their great fan base is the reason the Big Ten needs them. Someone then posts a list of some other night games on ABC this year. OSU-PSU ranks 4th on the list, behind 3 Florida State games. I wonder how 4.7 million compares to other Ohio State games, in the past couple of years.

Virginia Tech’s win was edged head-to-head by Michigan/Notre Dame on NBC (2.7, 4.6M). Both games were outdrawn by Michigan State/Oregon on FOX (3.5, 6.0M).

Huh..... well that's weird.

Just looked at the link that michnitlion provided. According to that, only 1.29 million people tuned in to watch the Pedsters opening-week game against UCF. Surely that can't be right, can it?

Of course, it then goes on to show that 3.35 million watched the OSU-Maryland game......
