Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

From Erickson's letter:

it has been a heart-wrenching and difficult eight months since we first learned of the charges against Jerry Sandusky
The Penn State Board of Trustees claim that most pf them weren't aware of the charges against Sandusky until he was charged and arrested in early November, 2011.

The Buckeye Planet 'board' became aware of the charges on March 31, 2011; when the local paper near State College published an article saying that he was being investigated. Just check page 1 of the Sandusky thread to verify this.

How the majority of the PSU BoT could manage to go 7 months without hearing that Sandusky was being investigated; when it had to be a widely discussed topic after that article was published, is just very difficult to believe. The BoT members are trying to blame the former Bot Chairman for not telling them about the Grand Jury investigation before the charges were filed and Sandusky was arrested.

It's just more of the same from State College - the leaders plead ignorance, and say that the responsibility was somebody else's, and attempt to retain their positions.

I remember reading an article recently where one of the BoT members acted as if they were blindsided by this whole thing....I believe she went on to say that if "someone had told them they would have talked to Paterno and they would have taken care of it".

With the way that PSU has been unable to put anything above it's football program and Joe Pa. ...I think it's best that the truth came out the way it did.

The obvious solution is to fill out the Board with more Trustees that troll Internet football forums.

They definitely heard the rumblings. They hoped the inbred society would do what they usually did, side with Ped St and ignore the outside world. Then he was indicted and shit got real. They actually had to do something out of their element. We all know how well they are at that.

Hard to keep up with what has been posted and what not. Statement from victims lawyers:

http://onwardstate.com/2012/07/12/attorneys-for-sandusky-victims-release-statement/

"Although the Freeh report focuses on isolated incidents of abuse in 1998 and 2001, as the criminal convictions clearly establish, Jerry Sandusky was abusing boys before 1998. We intend to demonstrate that Penn State and The Second Mile were aware of the abuse decades earlier and failed to take action to stop it."

Had a recent PSU grad interview for a job today.

He commented on how it's been a tough year to be a PSU fan. I said something along the lines of "yeah well that's a pretty horrific thing that happened." His next words were "I just hope nothing happens to the football team."

I kid you not.

That is the pervasive attitude and it should not be surprising. And it is why they need to shut it down.

No, honestly I was still giving him a chance but he just puked all over himself. Turns out cultists by and large are as dumb as your average field stone.

In a perfect world I would have been able to lure him in with promises of exorbitant compensation, have some ex-cons on payroll turk him in the company showers and keep it from HR so it wouldn't affect our IPO.

Then when he's unemployed, bloody assed, teary eyed and broke other employees can tell him they are outraged over that happening to him but glad I kept the stock price up.
