QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

I hear that maximum.... I'll take 65% while looking at bit rusty any day. The biggest difference (and even UFM said it) is that JT needs some help up front to go down the field. If they give him time to throw he's going to throw it to the right guy more often than not. The difference is without protection we are looking at 10 yard gains and not 40 yarders. Thought he played well but just needs better protection.

As for the fumbles buckeyesin07... one was a strip due to vannett and Zeke letting their end crash him. I don't mind much to his INT or his fumble (both came from the right side of the line pressure) bUT yes his fumble as a result of twisting can't happen.

One way to get the 'protection better' is keep calling those roll outs. He looks plenty accurate on the move. A simple screen would be nice too. Even if it doesn't gain a whole lot. Give those D linemen something to think about and slow them down a little. A lot of things can be done play calling wise with as mobile as JT is to help the Oline out with their jobs.

I agree... too much drop standard back. Rolling the pocket gives JT the option to run or throw if things aren't there (protection wise or receiver wise).

Agree. Don't know why they didn't make the adjustment to change the drop backs to moving the pocket. Also forces the linemen and backers to think more and overthink when we don't move the pocket or run the ball. Also we will see less blitzing as they try to contain and adapt to where the pocket rolls. I think beck is a little raw as a play caller having trouble adjusting mid game sometimes. It's getting better week to week when they study the tape. Illinois found a weakness and showed us. Now we can fix it before next week I'd rather Illini show us a weakness than Msu.

Like to see the fake option read drop back appear in the offense a little bit more starting this week as well. The seams are dying to get hit right now. Should make the DBs a little more anxious on the reads as well.
I believe we are only allowed to run that play in certain situations and certain downs. Right now we are obligated to run Zeke off tackle left every first down.
