RB/WR Curtis Samuel (Washington Commanders)

OSU has had a LOT of great RBs since Archie. I am not ready to anoint EZE the best since yet, no way no how. He is good, but so was Byars, George, Wells, Hyde, Robert Smith, et al.
You're leaving off three Heisman Trophy winners, the guy who built the stadium, Bob Ferguson, Matt Snell, Don Clark, Bob White. We old farts take that personally.

Standing in Zeke's way would seem to me to be two incredible QBs who love to run - make that three - and a coach who loves to pass the ball to his fleet of "game breaker" receivers and hybrid backs. Zeke may not get the touches that previous RBs have gotten at OSU.

You're also forgetting that our H backs will see a number of carries too next year. I haven't been on the bandwagon that Zeke will win the Heisman this upcoming season. He won't have nearly as many carries, which will help in our playoff run, and by the time of the playoffs, the Heisman award has been given. It'll be hard to pry the Heisman out of a QBs hands for the foreseeable future with the spread being used so much now.

Definitely wont get the touches Byars or Archie got, maybe not even the carries Eddie got - especially his magical season. Still, with 15 games and 20 carries per game I can see him with well over 1500 again and maybe even closing on 2000. That's good enough for me.

Including the playoffs I could see him around 1500yds. But I'm Urban wont work him like past RBs. And our offense doesn't dictate needing a bellcow RB if run correctly and efficiently.

If he gets 300 carries, in this offense, with a Warriner line and the skill guys around him to be accounted for, not to mention his own talents, he'll be over 2,000 yards rushing (approx. 6.7 YPC).
There's no way I'd want him to carry it 300 times, I wouldn't even want my NFL teams RB to run that much! If he ran or touched the ball 20 times he'd be at 240, and I only see him getting more than that if you add playing in the B1G championship, and playoffs. I can see Samuel getting more carries as well as Dunn, the starting QB and Weber will see a few. I can easily see Meyer resting him in OOC games and even against bottom feeder B1G teams. That would be where our depth will help. I also wouldn't be surprised if Wilson got some carries as well. It's a good problem to have, but I wouldn't run Zeke into the ground if I didn't have to

Samuel will go off this Year..
I would've said you're right a few weeks ago but now I'm not so sure. This is all my opinion as followed though.

I think Braxton made it clear he's going to give QB a shot but if it's clear he can't make the throws he will switch positions sometime in camp (at least split snaps). In saying that where would Braxton go? He won't go to RB because he doesn't have the breaking tackle/inside toughness to do so and with that said he would really only be a candidate for our H position IMO. If Braxton takes snaps at H you better believe he will be our primary H even over Dontre, Marshall, and Samuel. So IMO what happens is Braxton moves to H enough to put Samuel back at RB as Zeke's back up and while I expect better production than last year I don't expect personally much of a jump over last years numbers just because He will have to share the ball with Zeke, Marshall, Dontre, Braxton, Thomas, Vannett, and Obviously with Barrett and Jones as well (and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few others as well).

He just won't be relied upon enough this upcoming year to go off IMO. After Zeke and Braxton leave next year though he will come out of no where to take College football by storm for the 2016 season though.

Braxton is a great athlete but no matter who u are he's going to be a million steps behind Marshall Samuel and dontre learning a new position first time in ya life playing WR u have to learn the Footwork the blocking and a million techniques the adjustments to different defenses while actually running a route full speed it's not EZ as it sounds.Braxton will not play H this year who knows if he can catch with equipment on if he can run routes it's a different world from throwing the ball or taken snaps wit the ball to actually getting out there and playing Receiver..We will know soon enough though..
