South Africa is in incredible form, beating Scotland 41-0. They outscored Scotland, Russia, and Japan 103-0.

Wow.

South Africans were amazed that a team that had never played together played so well in the first three games in Moscow. Then, they lost their captain to a two-game suspension yesterday. Fiji 12 RSA 10.

Fiji did a good job of using their physical size to slow down the Boks.

I'm still comfortable for a medal in the Olympics, but there are some rears being chewed right now in a Moscow locker room!

Fiji and South Africa is always a good match-up. I watched Day Two yesterday and was irritated that I hadn't taped the pool matches.

Next year and going into Rio it will continue to be RSA and NZ at the top with Fiji, England, Kenya, and a young and improving Oz side just below them. Samoa has disappointed me this year. I'd love to see them get back to their form from a couple of years ago.

I watched the whole SA/Fiji match over the weekend and I'm sore and need to see a chiropractor. There was some real hitting from both sides. I think you're right about the Boks really missing their pitch leaders, Steve. In past matches between these two, they've figured out a way to stay calm, withstand the Fiji tsunami, play smart rugby and win. They came close to pulling out a win anyway but Fiji was just big, fast, and physical enough to escape.

Pretty solid effort by the USA against the NZ Maori. We hit hard the whole match and were less sloppy than they were. Just couldn't "score in the redzone". Lost by 10... Canada lost to them by something like 30, fwiw.

Nelson Mandela Bay 7s was quite a bit of fun to watch. When NZ hopped out to a 14-0 lead, I was thinking a replay of the B1G CC game. VERY physical game. South Africa scoring last 17 points t o win by 3.

I was surprised by USA. They looked like they could be on the path toward an elite team last year but have regressed quite a bit. They seem to have really lost the plot, although Isles looked very good and Thomasin at times. They need to lift their game quickly and were lucky to beat Spain, when the ref gave them one more kick after time over and they scored.

Madiba got his last rugby win prior to his funeral.
