Single Game Football Tickets Tips

There are advantages to giving $ to the athletic dept.....and i just found out that i will be in C-Bus during the time of the Whisky game, for a wedding!!! My nephew is getting married and who in the heck schedules a wedding on the same day of an OSU football game??? They post future schedules, so schedule the nuptials on a bye week.....:bonk:

I guess I already know who wears the pants in that family....maybe I can get State Penn tiks....

This e-mail I received from The OSU Ticket office....so if you have given money to the athIetic department I would check my e-mail...

"The 2011 OSU Football Season is right around the corner and we are inviting you to participate in a single game ticket pre-sale!

As a current supporter of Ohio State Athletics, you have the opportunity to purchase these tickets before they are released to the general public. This pre-sale will begin Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 10:00am and will conclude at 11:59pm on Saturday, August 6, 2011 (or until the supply is exhausted). Tickets are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis."

Yes, I was called into a client meeting and missed the pre-sale. Well it looks like I will be watching the Bucks on TV this year.....
Although when I checked you still could get multiple tickets for Indiana, Toledo and Akron.....

Well. It was a strange way of doing things. I logged in and was only able to see the first 2 games. So I bought a total of 6 tickets and then logged off. Just for the hell of it to see what was left about an hour and half later ALL games were available. WTF?? And at that point only singles were available for Wiscy, State Penn, etc. Needless to say I'm not happy with ticketmaster and OSU (if they had anything to do with it).

OHIO STATE GENERAL PUBLIC TICKETS ON SALE 8/9 @10am TICKETMASTER

FYI: Recieved this e-mail from the OSU Associate Director of Ticket Sales:

Just a quick heads up, there will be a General Public Football Ticket on-sale next Tuesday, August 9th at 10am. Tickets will be on sale through http://ticketmaster.com and walk up to the box office only. Tickets will be available for select home games only based on availability at the time. Therefore, at this point, I?m not sure what games will be available right now.

Again, I personally will not be fulfilling the orders, but wanted everyone to be aware as early as possible.

Thanks again for your support!

Are your chances better by going to the box office (getting there very early) or by trying to get the tickets online?

Looking at tickets online allows you to look at multiple games at the same time by opening multiple pages at once to look at all your options and to refresh your browser to see what other seats there are out there.

Thanks, I was wondering if they reserved some for the box office crowd? Basically , had so many reserved so there would not be a riot. I am thinking if I got there early enough, I would literally 'know where I stood'. I am really just trying to get two side by side tickets for any game so I can take my Dad.

I am afraid that at 10am everything will turn to molasses or time out online (ie 5000 people vying for 500 tickets).

I guess I am wondering if the box office people are just using the same online ticketmaster system that we would be or if maybe they have some tickets reserved to make seems fair for those who show up in person.

Nope, same tickets for everyone. As for molasses, this isn't their first rodeo for mad dashes for tickets for an event(s). It will be just fine. I suggest Opening a diferent window for each game you want to attend. Last year it seemed they had at least some tickets for each game.
