Member list = 16,547

Let's assume BKB is half of those
that still leaves 8,000 members

IMO if you can't afford $10 a year (or every other year), you probably shouldn't be on here
you should be working at McDonalds instead of posting

Most pay $40 a month just for internet.. you pay $50-$100 a mth for your phone
$5-$10 a year for this site is merely trading off 1-2 beers a year

That seems a little harsh.

I've been there myself.

Had a lousy time money-wise for a few years, as the gap in my banners shows. During that time BuckeyePlanet was one diversion that helped me get through. For some hard-working people, even $5 can be too much money sometimes. I would hate for somebody to not feel welcome here because they can't afford to donate.

My plea to anybody would be to show your appreciation by donating where you can, when you can. If now is not a good time but you find yourself with a couple extra dollars in June, you don't need an active drive to make a donation. If your situation turns around, remember this place and consider showing your appreciation with a donation. When it happened for me, setting up a monthly subscription was one of the first things I did and if felt great to finally be able to give more than I had before. And if you can't afford to send money at all, there are other ways to contribute to BP. It sounds corny but just being a thoughtful, active poster enriches the community and helps make it great.

IMO it's not too much to trade the price of ONE BEER as a donation... ONE beer... the enjoyment one gets in a year from this site has to exceed the enjoyment of one beer.. or they'd never log on

If each member ante'd up $1.. that's $8K+
For $2.50 draft nite... that's $20K

Hey BKB, we'd like those in unmarked five dollar bills. :wink2:

boom, donated.

I know I just saved this website with my donation, no need to thank me. No need to bow down to me, all I ask is that you call me king. Now, carry on peasants
At least you're a king in your own mind, if not in anyone else's.
I tried to edit it to "ding" btw.
