St. Henry, OH Stag Night

Why doesn't he play football?!?!?!?!?! 3 Hoying's in OSU history that are brothers. Can't you get on the team just by being related to someone. A Ohio State football player told me that. Like Jim Otis senior and Jim Otis Junior? Or Bruce Ruhl and Kyle Ruhl? Maybe that is how they got on the team. I wonder if that is how Tom got on the team himself from being Bob's little brother. IDK though. but did Michael play at St. Henry?

First off -- Tom was a pretty damn good football player. He may not have lit the world on fire at OSU, but he was good.

Michael played, not sure if he stuck it out through high school or not. To be brutally honest, he's not playing at OSU because he wasn't good.

2007 St. Henry Stag Night

Sorry for the "late" post on this:

Tickets were sold this past Wed. for the annual St. Henry Redskins (/OSU Football) Stag Night.

The Stag Night is being held Saturday Feb. 17th @ 6:00 p.m.

There are still a very few tickets available (about 40 as we speak)...$70 admision.

No word yet on the attendees (probably many of the 'usual suspects'), but it's always a great time!

I believe it was last night, wasn't it?

Anyone make it? Who was all there (current & former Bucks)? Can anyone share some highlights?

My wife set up a shopping trip with the girls in Columbus before tickets went on sale for the Stag Night, so I got the kids all day and night...but I guess I can afford to miss a year now and then.

So...what / who did I miss :) .

...Of course, I suppose anyone who was there last night probably isn't quite part of the living yet this morning.

Do they have fried fish, poker, beer and cigars?

...It's actually fried chicken, mashed potatos, chicken & noodles, etc....autographed sports memorabillia auction (lots of Buckeye stuff, but also a lot of stuff from big name stars in every sport)...usually a handful of current (out-going) and former Buckeye players (Hoying, Vrabel, Lachey, Tomczak are standard attendees) on hand to talk OSU Football...and yes, lots & lots & lots of beer.

Those that were there while Robert Reynolds was on hand probably have some good stories. :tongue2: But I believe current (non-graduating) players are now being strongly discouraged from attending (perhaps in part, stemming from some of the Reynold's stories in the following years)

Still a great time, at least the years that I've gone. (which unfortunately this year was not one)

It was a good time this year as always.

Todd was classy as always when asked about the QB situation. He wanted to vent but held back. I think they raised $30,000+ this year. Great event & is run extremely well by Tim Boeckman.

People there were:
Bob Hoying
Tom Hoying
Mike Vrabel
Jim Lachey
Todd Boeckman
Rory Nichol
Ryan Pretorious
AJ Trapasso
Brandon Smith

Coldwater is having it's annual Stag Nite next Saturday -- February 21st at the American Legion Hall. Call AD Eric Goodwin at 419-678-4821 for info or check out www.cavbooster.com. Price is $50.00 per ticket & includes all you can eat & drink. Autographs are free. There is a very nice auction that follows the speakers.

There are some pretty big names coming.
