Game Thread tOSU @ Penn State, Oct 25th @ 8pm ET, ESPN

Ped State nearly lost their QB on the last play, Bosa sack. Hack was limping after that.
One holding call the whole game? One! I saw guys getting chopped from behind on the TD play against Apple.
I've watched hundreds of Buckeye games and seen better teams lose games because of bad officiating. It didn't happen this time.
The refs were a clown show. They wilted under the lights.
But we still won!

First off, fuck the media. The Buckeyes are getting drug through the mud for winning a close game? Not every game is a damn blowout; this is big boy football.

Secondly, the Buckeyes went 5 for 5 in the Redzone, played a solid first half, and then rose to the challenge in overtime when it felt like Penn State had all the momentum.

A win is a win is a win.

Why is it that our play calling gets so damn predictable and tight in big games? Maybe it's just me but it feels like we cower to what the defense is dictating and it totally impacts our play calling. I don't get it.
We ran our most basic read-option run on practically every single play in overtime. Luckily Barrett made good reads and executed. The success on offense in overtime was thanks to everything but creative play calls.

After our a day to digest this (a night rather heres my thoughts)

1. PSU did a great job with the use of their bye week. They did a decent job of keeping the pocket moving and changing Hacks launch point but in saying that hat goes off to their defense. I found they were using zone drops a TON in this game and its due to when JT is pressured he is taught to throw in the direction of the pressure which IMO lead to that first horrendous INT.

2. The offensive gameplan/adjustments in big games has been and will continue to a big issue for this team. TH says the WRs did a fine job but it was on our oline and JT. We seldomly went deep this game and as i was watching this game you could see ALL 11 defensive players on the set. Once again a team had no respect for our vertical passing game and we did nothing to change that mind set. We went deep 2 times one was a jump ball that Thomas almost brought down and the other hit Devin right in the gut. When teams are taking away something fine just do something else that is now vulnerable and we always fail to do this in big games.

3. Defense is better all around. While i don't like how often we give up points overall you can't fault the defense for at least the 7 they got on the pick 6. They run to the ball, they're not letting the big hit, and most of all they're giving the big hit. A great game by the D but this PSU team couldn't more than 10 against Uscum and NW

4. The team is coming together but i still have no idea how good we are. Teams we beat are getting beat worse by other teams, Hell our lone loss is getting smoked. To make it worse teams we need to have upset keep winning. Who are we kidding though is this team really ready for a playoff? Not at all

It doesn't even occur the pedsters that the refs were just plain bad and missed plenty of calls in their favor. They've been so conditioned by not having any calls go against them and JoePed's constant whining about it once they got to the Big Ten that they can't see what's happening right in front of their faces. Oh wait. Yeah, that's kind of what they do.

Let us bask in the warm glow of their hatred!

21Guns

"STAND UP AND LEAVE THIS CONFERENCE"ONCE AND FOR ALL. SINCE DAY ONE THEY HAVE BEEN SCREWING US.

THIS, AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, IS EQUAL TO THE B.O.T., AND EQUAL
TO THE FREEH REPORT.

AND YES, PART OF THIS IS ON JOE, THIS WAS A PANIC MOVE MADE IN
REACTION TO THE FAILURE OF THE BIG EAST, IN THE LATE 80'S/

EITHER WAY, IT'S GONE TOO FAR.

AFTER TONIGHT, WE EITHER LEAVE THIS CONFERENCE, OR BECOME A
PATSY, AND A SELL OUT OF A UNIVERSITY.

SORRY, THIS WAS TOO MUCH TONIGHT, BEYOND IOWA 2002, BEYOND THE
THREE MICHIGAN RAPES, BEYOND ANYTHING.

With so many references to rape and being screwed, this post should be from a troll.

In any case, it couldn't have happened to a more deserving institution.

Simple the Big 10 has no interest in fixing theReply
officiating. Big Ten very similar to the BOT in that their ego and self interests stop them from doing what is right and what is good for the entire organization.

Think about this one for a moment. His underlying belief is that Penn State winning and dominating is not only the way things should be but is actually best for the Big Ten and the other schools. As if we should all be grateful to play second fiddle to their grand experiment.

Either team that would have came out on the loosing end of that game would have had a huge issue with the outcome because of the refs. Fortunate when the game was 0-0 in OT the Buckeyes made the plays to win. The previous teams the Buckeyes have beat this season are not good football teams. They have played 2 ok teams in VT and PSU and are 1-1. I think that is an accurate reflection of where this team is right now. Young and learning.... There will be growing pains, fortunately lessons were learned with a W yesterday and not a L.
